So I've been at home for two days watching my chicken, Sally slowly die. She's not eating, standing right, moving or hanging out with the others but thats what you fucking get when battery hens are abused for most of their life. It makes me so angry that humans can do that to animals. I know it happens to pigs and bears just to name a few but freaking hell why chickens? They say that there is a huge spread of bird flu and every one is getting salmonella then why the fuck do people keep them cramped in cages rotting alive in their own shit and diseases? Harry died because she had something wrong with her insides. On her last day she was standing verticle instead of long wise on her feet. She had so much fluid inside her that it was pulling her whole body offbalance. They don't see that these hens have lasting permanent affects. Sure they have on average two years extra cage free life but the effects still stay with them and evetually catch up with them. When I first rescued Sally she had vertially no feathers, even today she hasn't been able to regrow them properly and has three malformed feathers for a tail. Its not thick and soft like their tails are meant to be. It just makes me so fucking angry that theres nothing I can do. I gave up taking them to the vets because they say that they don't have the knowladge or facilities to treat or diagnose chickens. If the treatment of kittens were well known and everyone knew that real fur isn always from the animal it is said to come from then humans would be the first to have a big uproar about it. The people being cruel to the kittens would be serverly punished. But because Everyone eats Chickens anyway they say oh well where will our meat come from. Im not trying to to dis people that eat meat, thats fine but no one realises that chickens actually have personalities and they arnt just some dumb shittting 24/7 waste of space with feathers. Even at my school people come up to me and say I wana eat your chickens or mmmm chicken tastes goooood. Well I wonder if they knew what they are actually eating. there is so much secrecy behind battery farming and even broiler farming because the cruel people are so scared that if the public found out how they were treated and raised and even killed then no one would eat it. So Sally will be dead in a few days anyway. I've had  about 6 chooks die on me and they all had personalities and individual quirks. Someday though the horrors of how they are being treated will catch up with the humans and we will all die from a plauge of birdflu. I hope so. I feel so shamed to be a human.
