F#!@

So, I've been dealing with hip pain that started over two weeks ago. It started the day after I saw my rheumatologist, of course. I went to the doctor (not my regular gp) because it hurt so bad, I was limping. They took an x-ray and of course it showed nothing. They gave me some pain meds and sent me on my way. Although, he told me it sounded like it was the joint and not the muscle. So, I've been taking my pills, but it just keeps getting worse. Nothing helps...I try to rest, pain is worse, I do all my normal activities, pain is worse. So, I finally call my doc back up and tell them I have to come back in. So, the nurse tells me that the doc wrote down that it was probably tendonitis from the mctd. Well, that's the exact opposite of what he told me. So, anyway, my regular doc comes in and does all the moving it around tests, and tells me I need an mri. F#!@! Just what I wanted, another friggin' test! He thinks maybe it is something in the cartilage that didn't show up on the xray. He gave me some more pain pills to tide me over until I have the mri done, and he requested a wet read, so at least I should know the same day what the results are. They are supposed to call me today to get it scheduled. But, I haven't been able to go get my hearing test done because I have been dealing with all of this crap! I am just so frustrated! I am so sick of having test after test after test. It's getting old really fast. If they tell me that nothing showed up after this, I will lose it!

I\'ve been having hip pain for months now.....not enough that I need pain meds, just enough to make me limp around. Mine gets better when I am up and moving tho. I can\'t sit for very long and I toss and turn from side to side all night. I would be very interested in hearing if they find anything. Mine feels more like it is tendon or ligament rather than joint. I hope you get some answers.
Do you get any relief from stretching?

Hi Kate,
Hang in there! I have been having the same problem with my knees. I\'ve had X-rays done and they were fine..... I\'m sure it\'s all tendon related too. My right one is much worse and I have a rheumy appointment today. I\'m in a bad mood because of it. If she says its not from the MCTD I am going to lose it for sure! Icing has helped a lot.
Beth, I agree stretching helps. My problem is that it\'s a fine line between stretching enough and over doing it.
Hope you both find some relief today.

Thanks you two! Stretching does not help at all, makes it feel like the hip is being pulled apart! Don\'t know what is going on, but something definitely is. Will let you know what I find out!
