PERMANENTS - OH NO! Considering giving myself a permanent yesterday, I recalled when my grandmother used to give us perms. When she took out the perm rods, I looked like a chipmonk with a Brillo pad on my head. I remember looking at myself in the bathroom mirror - I was horrified!!!! I wanted to hide forever and refused to leave the house - I was 6. I guess I've been stubborn for a very long time and that's a good thing. I'm the one in front in the photo below (age 4) - I loved my long hair:) She cut it too - she was pretty stubborn herself. No wonder we didn't get along......but I loved her - I think:) lol Hi you guys - have an excellent day and thanks for being my friends. OK - time to do laundry - part of the bedroom cleanup - and then on to bigger and better things - like vacuuming the bedroom carpet. I'm in for a big day:) Bye

I think we have all had a bad perm at one time or another..the last time I did that to myself,I had half streight,half ramen noodles-talk about HORRIBAL!!
I had to laugh at this post.. I rmember my aunts Grandmother na mom giving each other perms or a regular basis.. I got it Once.. and yes it looked like a brillo pad.Have a good weekend D

I was 13 when I had a bad perm... I decided then and there that after it grew out I would never get another one... wouldn\'t you know it, my former stick straight hair is now curly. The perm damaged my follicles.
Maybe someday when I am brave enough I will dig out the picture and share it with you.
Aww - we seem to have some similar perm memories -
Cant do the perm, i got psorisis and even putting colour in my hair blisters my scalp. I had one once, it looked beautiful but i dont like when it is growing out, looks so scruffy.
