There is a forest behind my house that I take Heinze (my dog) to for walking, exercise. It is quiet and beautiful - it is so wooded that I have to leave little red ribbons tied to the trees so that I can find my way back. I hear birds making bird noises (they're all so different), squirrels making their noises, the pines rustling, lizards running below the brush, and sometimes just beautiful, beautiful silence. .When Heinze smells a gopher he does a full alert -his tail, huge ears and head stand straight up - he goes into hunt mode - and attacks the dirt where the gopher was. Bless his heart - he tries so hard to get one of those suckers. He has hunting in his blood. This forest is a beautiful place to find peace. I may stay in this house after all - this kind of beauty is hard to find outside of your back door.

Oooh it sounds beautiful. We live in the middle of the city and constantly long to get out to a place like you describe, for us and our sweet Bella - she loves the outdoors and she has a bit of a hunter in her too! She is interested in and curious about anything that moves!
