I also wrote this in the hypoglycemia chat rooms, but no one responded to me. -cries- I have a question, and anyone who knows, please I need an answer. REcently I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. Would low blood sugar contribute to the depression I feel, and help the urge to want to cut? Please, if anyone knows, I am really scared. I hate to say that, but its true Im scared. Other than that, today was a really good day. I even got out of the house and went to the mall for some of my favorite food, and got myself some new barbells for my tongue piercing. All excited about that. Well, leave your comments. Love-Jenn

WHEN YOU SUGAR IS LOW IT WILL EFFECT YOU. YOUR BRAIN IS NOT GETTING GETTING THE JUICES IT NEEDS TO FUNCTION. SO IF YOUR BODY IS NET FEELING WELL YES IT COULD YOU TO BECOME DERPRESSED THE BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS HAVE SOME HARD CANDY WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. YOU WILL BEABLE TO TELL WHEN YOUR SUGAR IS DROPPING. YOU WILL GET THE SHAKES. HOPE THIS HELPS
I\'m not well versed in hypoglycemia but it only makes sense that if your blood sugars drop you\'re going to feel worse. Thia is a good question to ask an expert, like your doc. Be well, Debbie
ahh sweetie sorry to here about your sugar levels and i think it probably doesn\'t help with your depression. but i am glad you got out of the house for a while that is a really big step towards helping you. try to eat regular and please stay safe

Dear Jenn, I am a diabetic. About 2 weeks ago my blood sugar dropped to 61. I felt so bad. I broke out in a sweat like someone threw a bucket of water on me. I was talking funny. My head had a weird burning sensation. I got out of bed and I even staggered alittle like I was drunk. This has never happened to me before and it was so scarry. I ate breakfast but, first I drank a large glass of orange juice. In about 15 minutes I started to feel better. So, the low sugar level stuff can really mess you up. Always keep some candy in your purse. They sell Glucose Tablets at the Pharmacy too. I use to work for a Pediatrican. The doctor would tell the mothers of diabetic children to get a tube of cake icing (Cake Mate) and carry that with them incase ,the child was unconsious or couldn\'t chew the candy. Just another thought. I hope to talk to you soon. Lots of Hugs, Lisa
my mom has worked in the medical field for many years and has known doctors, nurses, patients etc. and i have known them and NOT worked in the medical field. however, a snickers is what i\'m told is the best cure for the shakes and lightheadedness as well as feeling just plain blah. i have friends who are hypoglycemic and that is what they recommend as well. hope that helps. maybe it will help cure the depression feeling.
