its been weeks since i have wrote on here. doing ok, cant go a whole week without a drink. talk to a councilor on sat mornings ,it helps. went to doctor on wed. tablets for 3 weeks that will make me sick if i drink, then different ones to take away the cravings. this is a last resort. had second thoughts about taking them today as i knew the kids wont be home tonite [ thats when i go running to the shop!!!!!!] i feel good, and know i will feel good in the morning, thats how life should be!!!!!! no hangovers!!!!!! painted my livingroom duck egg , its nice and bright, and a bonus of a new leather suite.............a bingo win........my niece had a baby girl this morning so am taking my michelle 16 with me in 2 weeks time for a weeks holiday, they stay about 130 miles away. going to have an early nite, need to feed my 3 cats, fish and hamster before going to bed. nite nite xx

Frostie....you know that med that is supposed to make you sick if yu drink? Well...truth...Back in the 30s, these people were working in a tire-producing factory. A lot of them started getting very sick...vomiting for days, hosptalized because some started to bleed from vomiting so hard. Some didn\'t get sick at all. Investigation found out that the ones that got sick drank alcohol. Turns out that a subtance used for making tires was making them vomit terribly. A pharmecutical company began making it and giving it to alcoholics to teach them a lesson not to drink. It was named Antabuse. Oh it worked! But , people would not take it and drink, not knowing that one dose stayed in their system a long time and they would become deathly ill even though they didn\'t take it that day. Also, it (pill) does not know the difference between booze and perfume, listerine, vanilla extract or any other substance that has alcohol in it. So be very careful when you are taking something that is used to make tires.
The other meds, Cambral or Narcan(nalexone) knocks out the pleasure. center in your midbrain. It also does not know to differentiate between alcohol, food, sex, water or any other survival mechanism that keeps you going. So be careful with that one, also. It is commonly used in the ER for overdoses on opiates, heroin, methadone etc.

Wow, how did that happen? Anyway, I forgot to add, my dad took Antabuse back in the 60s and I remember what happened to him. He ended up in the ER he was soooo sick and was hospitalized for 3 days. He didn\'t know that he wasn\'t supposed to use his OLD SPICE after shave...plus he skipped his dose and drank! Talk about throwing up blood!!!!I was only a kid but I\'ll never forget that. hi, triss, thanks for your advice about the pills, i promise i wont drink with them and hopefully after the 3 weeks i might not need to take the other ones. just need something in the shortterm to get out of my bad habit [ running to the shop ] will keep in touch.love frostie.x.
