I am extremely peeved today. I've applied for SSI twice and have been denied. I'm applying for the 3rd time right now. According to them, I am not disabled. Unlike the previous times that I've applied, I am barely able to walk from my house to get into a car in the driveway without getting tired. I know I'm sick. WHY don't they believe me?!

The reason they dont believe you is because you dont have the right sickness. I know that sounds sarcastic but it is the truth. There is a list of certain criteria you have to meet in order to be considered disabled. And although this is a government entity the rules vary from state to state. Example- State A says you can not work because you fried your brains on drugs and now are too stupid to work. ( Arkansas) And state B says we dont cover that type of disability ( any other of the 48 states) As long as any state finds you disabled you are disabled in all states. Now you say you are filling for the third time.
Most of the people I talked to said you need to hire a lawyer if you dont get it the second time. I found out the lawyer didnt do any good whatsoever. What bothers me is they have denied you twice. Now this is what I did. I went to a government web site and found a listing of all the criteria it took on a heart by-pass. Then I got all the paperwork from all the doctors, x-rays, hospitals, labs, you name it. If I was there I had paper proving it. By the way you can get every piece of paper that has your name on it, even all those little nurses notes in your chart. If you take pills all the pharmacies are asking you to go to this site and sign your name in support of compounded medicines www.savemymedicine.org I have not been there yet so I cant say too much about it. WOW thats a lot of words, hope this helps.
