Bit sad. finally got around to calling it quits with Paul. Logic tells me it is the right thing wholeheartedly. Emotions tell me otherwise today. I suspect that is what will happen, as despite the things in him that drove me insane, he filled a very important part of my life. I had someone who loved me (I still do as we are best friends). I had affection, someone who was affectionate to me the way i loved it.I felt i had a partner, even though we did not live in the same city. Lots of other little things. But to remind me of logic I must list the following:1. the distance. If i kept traveling 1 x per month, which would have suited me perhaps, it would not have suited Paul. He needed more.2. If i kept traveling 2 x per month, it would not have suited me, for it would mean being away so much again, preventing me from expanding my life here. And in the long term, i have never been able to see Paul as a life partner due to our differences, so it is necessary i expand my life here if I do in deed want a chance at meeting a life partner (but i am not sure as to whether i do really)3. His habits of excessive farting, bad manners, eating too fast, being loud and uncouth and his sexual comments pissed me off hugely. Especially more as time went by. I hated how he farted so loudly all the time, with no regard to making himself perhaps excused to do it etc. He forces them out to be as loud as possible. It is disgusting. I think there are times you cant prevent that, but at other times, it is possible and it is good manners to do so. Public places he would still do it. And i mean he farted in excess of 50 x per day. All loud and long. I suspect that is as he eats so much fibre and so quickly.4. Most importantly, he again reiterated yesterday how he is not a family man, and does not like sharing me with my family nor is he interested in being part of it. He can do it for short periods, but is not really interested in family stuff at all. That is a HUGE red flag. I love my family time. MY children are my life, as is my extended family.5. We are worlds apart socially. He is a country bumpkin which is nice in lots of ways, but difficult in others, as he simply could not fit in with my friends in the city. 6. He has no idea of handling money. Spends it on silly stuff and will never save and never have a penny to his name, only debt. So, we can never go anywhere, aside from where I pay. That prospect would never change. Long term, he would be a financial drain on me. I would be the person with the money and he would take it for granted that i would support him. I know that, as i had to have a chat to him recently about going 'dutch' as i was paying for absolutely everything for the two of us and i was getting upset that he would not even offer. There are lots of other things. But time prevents me from writing. Will do update on mark on next few days too. Of course he is at me to be back together with him, but i do not see him changing, nor do i see him being able to fill my needs. I suspect he is keen to get me back as the others have fallen through on him. Nothing changes with him.
