My rowing at nationals went well. Managed to row the pair straight, which was my goal. We came a respectable 5th in the final, 15 seconds off the pace, but indeed ok for our first race together. Did not disgrace ourselves at all.Got a bronze medal in a mixed C 8 and also the womens C 8, the latter being a fantastic race for the place. A most memorable row. A better time than the selected interstate Queensland womens 8, which was also great. Paul is improving and is no longer so down, but i do see still that he has a propensity for a problem for he has nothing to occupy his time during the day. To solve his problem, he needs a job. Simple. Anyone with time on their hands and living alone with not a lot of motivation would be in the same place as him. He got off his backside and did some reorganizing at his home for 3 days last week which i was pleased with.  Got a lot done, but has slipped back into sleeping during the day the last few days. I have hinted that sleeping during the day is not a good thing when he is doing nothing to use any energy to warrant it, but i cant force him.Long term if he gets better, i see his idleness as being a real problem for me. I dont sit still for long and if he was to sleep each day without having a reason to actually do it, it would drive me besserk. Should address that problem soon i think. Had my eyes done under a GA with mark yesterday. Needed a 2 hour anaesthetic and he removed 20 little lumps of newfil. Now i have two hugely swollen and black eyes which dont really get hidden under my sun glasses, but i flew back to Brisbane today and no one said much other than sympathy stuff. Going to visit Paul tomorrow for 6 days which will be nice. Would have preferred him to come here as i have to get ready for Rome only 3 days after i get home, but of course if Paul came here it would cost me anyway as he cannot afford to travel.  Peeves me a bit that he has no money and not the drive to get any.  He seems to be saying that he will sell his house if and when i move down there so he can be debt free, but that means he is coming to be with me with absolutely nothing at the age of 46 or 47.  Not good really. he is young and should be still working hard to set himself up. I have told him that i would not be prepared to keep him should be be together, and that we would each have to contribute equally, so he knows that.  Can see it as a problem. Mark is still being nice to me and again last night said he feels sad and upset that he stuffed up and made wrong decisions. Says he has outgrown his need for other women, but my answer was "for how long?".  I dont know that he will ever grow out of it.
