An eventful weekend. I went up to Townsville to pack up the last of my things and to make sure my daughter is packing up ready for her move on Thursday of next week as the house settles on Friday. I worked like a dog the short time i was there but got everything that i wanted to do, done. Emily has a lot to do still and spent most of her time out. I made myself not do her work, for she has to learn her own responsibility and I suspect she would have liked to fall into the normal routine - gone out, and come back home to find the bits that she did not like to do, done. I did not do that. She is 21 this year. I have done the majority of the work, she has to do the final stuff. I had organized to meet with Mark yesterday at 10.15 to discuss financial details of the settlement. Of course he was there when i arrived Saturday, helping pack up which was good, and of course he asked me to get back with him lots of times.Dont think that i wrote in here that this week he has upset me dearly with his constant pleas as it makes me feel so guilty for walking away. Stupid, illogical, but true. I told him by email again my reasons for not being with him, and he replied a number of times with 'but what about....". I stuck to my grounds though and in the end told him only to speak with me about children, finances or settlement, and not other personal stuff. So, I was sitting with him listening to his suggestion that we keep all of our assets together as they are worth more in the long term than selling them now (of course i will not do that, but i listened anyway to keep the peace). I was explaining things from my point of view and I looked up and there was little miss slut about to come in the front door!I said "Rowena, you are not welcome in this house" and she said 'dont worry, i have only come to say something to him" and pointed to Mark. She walked up to him and swore numerous times calling him a liar and all other names under the sun. She had read his emails to me and saw what he was saying and how he was begging to come home. She really got stuck into him.I thought she was about to have a go at me for getting back with him so I waved the papers that i was writing notes on at her and told her that we were only speaking about settlement nothing else. She then turned her back and said "I am moving out" and left. She asked Mark if he wanted to get back with me and he answered 'yes'.My, how the tables have turned. A year ago, that was me, walking in on the two of them. And Mark supported her and not me. Now the complete opposite, and for the very first time in front of her, he said he wanted to get back with me. Amazing. So she leaves, and I advise him to go after her if he wants her. He just sits there and says "no, i dont want her, i want to be with you". Again I told him that it was not what I could do anymore. Again he says "if there is a glimmer of hope with you, then i wont go with her". Again i see straight through that - for he is still having his Plan A and Plan B. She is still there if I am not. I told him that I was u ncertain as to how my future was going to go, and I was scared of making a mistake, but that i felt that it was wrong for me to get back with him now for all of the reasons i explained to him over time. I know it would be wrong. He may be chasing me madly now and making all these promises, but I now see h im as a man who does this to get what he wants. Once he has what he wants, then he gets bored and the thrill is gone, so he starts a bad path again. I can see that clearly now.I was quite logical and controlled in telling him no, that was good for me.He eventually left as he was going out on the boat with a group and Rowena was initially supposed to go with him. I packed some more stuff and took it into the old office and on my way home, out of interest, I drove past his new house. There was Rowenas car in the garage and his car behind hers. I guess he was using his best powers to get her to believe in him again. Who knows.I thought to myself that something profound happened today. Not only do i see that things went in a complete circle, but i saw other stuff.I saw Rowena fight tooth and nail and be horrible to me and my family and I saw it come right back and hit her in the back of the head. I had spent a lot of my recovery time believing and following the buddhist principles of being at peace and forgiving, and not trying to control others and not treating others horribly even though they were to you. I got myself through so many times by thinking "what goes around, comes around". That they would not go on and live happily ever after because they had done things in a way that hurt me and my precious children. And guess what. It is true! It is right. It did come around. He did stand up for me. She did get what she deserves, and he is not happy. I am sad for them both, but they made their beds and it is not for me to tell them how to behave and treat others. I hope they learn from it.I suspect that Mark has wormed his way back into her life now, for he cannot bear the thought of being alone. He has friends up there and has much more company than me, but he cannot be alone. It is a relationship doomed. For he is bored. She has insecurity and he complains she controls him. He does not want to be with her, but is with her as he cannot be alone. he will bore and cheat again. It sticks out like a sore thumb. He says he has changed now. I cannot believe that. My mind will not let me no matter how much i think about the fact that indeed he may have changed. I would like to believe that he has, as i like to make him into someone who i think he should be, or who i would like him to be. But Mark is Mark. He will always think the same. This is a blot on his horizon and will temporarily set him back.He needs to learn not to treat others poorly. It would have been much better for her to leave him, for if she does not, he sees that he can still lie and get around her, so he sees himself as in control. Therefore he is being rewarded in a way for treating her poorly. No woman deserves to be with someone as a Plan B, simply as Plan A is not available. And she is checking up on him. What a horrible horrible existence she is setting up.And you know what else? She accused him of lying to her. I wish i had the gall to say to her then and there "what did you expect?" "Your relationship was conceived on dishonesty, it grew on dishonesty and today is still dishonest". "You knew he lied to you and I for at least the first 2 years of your affair. Did you simply think that he would just stop lying? It is a way of life for him" But i didnt. An eventful weekend. What goes around, does come around. They get what they deserve one way or another. And I am very happy with Paul still. xx
