I've been taking Lyrica since mid March. I started off 50mg three days and then up to 100mg the next three days. I was supposed to go up to 150mg,but when I tried: I just felt so over medicated. I've tried since then to 'sneak' 150mg into my system on weekends when I don't work-but it still gives me the same feeling...My arms and legs start to hurt really bad after ten min of taking the 150mg. There's not thinking at this point,my mind just goes into swirls. Right now as I write this at 9:34am,I still feel very drugged and dizzy. I took my meds at 8pm last night. My Dr wants me at 150mg and insists I keep trying to add days of it...but I just can'tI have a family I need to care for and I have no choice but to function properly.
I'm having a hard time doing just that. I have to push myself to do anything! If I rest on the weekend, come Mon-I'm okay. I am a Nanny,so I take the baby for a walk because I'm feeling 'up to it'...then Tues,I feel a little more worn. By Weds I'm ready to throw in the towel. The walk from Mon usually knocks me out for a day or two. I'm not normally a 'lazy person'-I like to get things done. In the past I've been deep into gardening, keeping my house spotless and being on top of things. Yesterday I cleaned our two bathrms, vacuumed and I did a TINY bit of gardening. Today I feel like I've been boxing for hrs....
Since I've added Tramadol w/ Mobic..I seem to feel better than before. But this only takes the usual pain away:the pain I just feel constantly. Which is a good thing. But if I do any activity, then I'm hurting A LOT. Am I making sense? My head feels so dizzy and disorganized. It's hard to connect a thought or find words...I feel like i'm 80,not 41I hate that by Fri, all my energy is spent from work and I am useless by the weekend so my kids watch me lay down ten times a day-after every task. I don't like them seeing me like this. But I do push myself as much as I can. I worry so much about what I'll be like in ten yrs. I can only hope that there will be more things in the medical field that will be found to help us....
So I'm not sure about this Lyrica. I'm fine on 100mg. I can tolerate it and it seems to help some what. But there's just no way of going to 150mg. IDK if pushing thru the weirdness it brings for a few days will suddenly make me pop out to the other end of it and feel better suddenly???or is my body trying to tell me I cannot have 150mg PERIOD? If so,I'll need to seclude myself from everyone and everything to get over the pain in my body and weirdness in my head it brings. I wish there were straight answers. Why can't there be a definite? Why is it always a guess????
I'm scared right now thinking: "This is it,this is as good as it gets." And it's true,it frustrates me that I'm doing all the 'right things' and I don't seem to be getting much better. My other diseases don't help either
