Holidays

Reading some of the journals, just make me think of my husband  and all the holidays we have been through.  I guess we were traditional with our celebrating.  We always go to my mom's house for Thanksgiving and Christmas eve.  We tried when we were first married to do Thanksgiving on our own.  It wasn't very good.  You need to be around your family, and as much of them as possible to make it feel like the holiday.  Besides, who wants to do all of the cooking.  We all bring something to my mom's.  She is 74 and takes no medicine at all.  She is just that healthy.  She sees her doctor regularly.  She always goes overboard with cooking of course, especially the desserts.  Us girls, always want to bring a dessert too, so you can imagine how many we wind up with.
My granddaughter is set up in her new school, but I still think she needs to see a counselor.  I tried talking to her today about it, and she doesn't want to.  She says to talks to her boyfriend.  But her whole world has been turned upside down.  She seems to have lost interest in everything, and I'm going to push her dad and my daughter to help me get her to talk to someone.  I don't think she grieved properly for her "gramps"
I'm putting the link, for a you tube my sister did, for my husband's service.  It kind of tells our story of our life.
