The Virgin Queen is in repose. We have compromised, reached a de'tant, are mutually satisfied with the terms of the current "treaty" worked out with such finesse by Lady Sybil. We are bound by the arbirdtration (ok, I seem to be bound.... the jury's still out on Her Royal Highness) me to leave her only in partial darkness (only half her cage is covered and only the window behind her cage has the drapes drawn) and she to maintain her current eggless condition....and neither of us has to wear a cone-shaped hoop skirt or any other birdzarrely shaped apparatus! I am, herewith, cautiously optimistic that the only eggs I shall be dealing with for the moment are the ones in my fridge. I am now free to, in the words of the bumper sticker I saw in a parking lot the other day; "Mind your (or in this case MY) own damn uterus!"  Catchy isn't it? So, since my uterus has gone out to pasture and is actively seeking a life without activity..... I'm thinking I'm in the clear.........And now to the heavy stuff.........Bear called the other night and told me he thought he was having anxiety attacks on the field. He thought it was "tired" and "stressed" and worried that he had made me angry. I thought a little differently and told him he MUST go to a Dr first thing in the morning and he should call me on the cell at work to tell me what had been prescribed.... thus I would know for certain that he had actually gone. His BP is 160/110 and he was prescribed a blood pressure med and given nitro in case he has any more "anxiety" attacks. I have made an appointment with our Dr (and I LOVE this man) whom I trust quite literally with both our lives and Bear will see him next Friday for a complete work-up. It turns out that Utah (the state he's currently working in) is the second best state in the country (our own state of WA is first) for cardiology care and myDr.'s nurse is from there and gave me the names of the ER's he should go to if he has ANY other attacks..........So becareful what you say to your spouse. I've been telling mine for MONTHS that I was going to start actively planning for his death because he's in such bad shape and only recently did he finally stop smoking. It's ironic that I've been teaching a nutrition unit because it gave me the opportunity tocalculate his BMI (body-mass index) and his ISAWFUL! The reality is that he's been a smoker for over 25yrs, is 100 pounds overweight and is far enough out of shape that getting up and down our staircase gets him out of breath...... I don't think he truly understands how much his life is going to have to change....... not to mention his eating habits.....So I've been fighting a headache that wants to become a migraine since yesterday morning and I need to get it beaten into submission soon as I have NO intention of spending a three day week-end on a fainting couch of my own! But I wish I knew how to bring up the subject of mortgage insurance with him without sounding like a ghoul. My reality in this is that this is a 2 income house we are living in and although he might be able to swing it for a couple of months on his own, I wouldn't even have the time to get it on the market and wait for it to sell........You know....... I think I need to get off the computer and get outside. I'll be back tonight.........

So very sorry that and Bear have health issues to worry about...I hope that he checks out okay with the doctor and this proves to be anxiety related rather than something more. Glad you made him go to the doctor and call you! I personally don\'t think you will sound like a \"ghoul\" if you sit down and discuss financial security issues such as mortgage insurance. You both need to be protected and it is something that couples do for one another...it\'s just being practical. Having just been through emergency surgery for critical heart failure with my husband followed by job loss and lengthy rehab, I assure you that you cannot be too prepared in the insurance department. Hope that your headache starts to fade into oblivion...the fainting couch is not the ideal place to spend your weekend off... and as far as the Virgin Queen issue...birdzarrely...you win on that one!!

Janine, I am sorry the hubby is not feeling well but on the bright side he can\'t lay eggs! Stress is a cause and the constant traveling he does can cause stress in spades. I hope this holiday week-end finds him safe at home with you. Of course keeping P and him in a darkened room may be relaxing for you! Maybe not? I\'m not sure if you can barbecue in a bedroom...are there rules for that? Well, have a peaceful and safe holiday. Love Ya Kathy

HAS BEAR ALWAYS HAD A WEIGHT PROBLEM? I CAN SEE HOW EASY IT WOULD BE TO GAIN WITH HIS JOB. I ASSUME HE EATS OUT ALOT. UNLESS YOUR ABLE TO KEEP HIM FROM BEING ON THE ROAD IT\'S GONNA BE TOUGH. WEIGHT ASIDE, HOPEFULLY THE DOC WILL SAY HIS HEART IS FINE!!!!!!!! THEN HE CAN START WORKING ON BEING HEALTHY TO GET THE BLOOD PRESSURE DOWN!!!! I\'M GOING TO JOIN WEIGHT WATCHERS AGAIN, I THINK. WHAT DIET ARE YOU ON? WISHING YOU THE BEST, TELL BEAR HE WILL BE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. ALL MY LOVE MY LADY!!!!!!!

Oh dear... must we... diet... exercise... I\'m tired and hungry... just teasing... you\'re absolutely right Janine... Many a woman has prolonged her husband\'s life many years by nagging and bullying... LOL hey... I tell Richard its my job... and I\'m very good at it... too good alas he might say... but hey... the norm before me for having to call EMS at least once a month... now... maybe 3 times a year... and its almost always when he\'s away from me... so there Richard... a 75% improvement is not to be sneered at... sometimes even when he\'s away I manage to save his hide... i.e. Jan... 2006... I ended up in the hospital... I kept worrying about him... finally around 6:30am... I could stand it no longer... tried to call him... could tell by his slurred speech he was in trouble... no he\'s not a drinker... his sugar had dumped... he needs a keeper... very inept at taking care of himself... he\'s what you call a high maintenance boy toy... oh wouldn\'t he love me calling him a boy toy... I\'m joking about that yall... he\'s 56 to my 51... no the boy toy is what I shall replace him with if he doesn\'t do right... LOL... anyhoo... called the EMS from the hospital... they got there and somehow he managed to crawl to the door to unlock it... and collapse... and they shot him up with dextrose... and I\"m a hero... Yay... but being a hero requires that I am scared to even consider being away from him overnight... so I guess I\'m stuck with him... or he with me... depends on whose the most pissed off... and they lived happily ever after... honestly... most of the time... that\'s true... I have a need to nurture... he needs nurturing... codependent hell... or heavenly bliss... who\'s to say... Today... its a blessing... not mad at him... oh joy oh joy... Hugs Janine... oh... are you going to let P have a sleep over buddy? Tee Hee... Hugs bye...

You know Elissa you could trade Richard in for a 30 and a 26. I knew those math classes would one day come in useful!
Diet is a four letter word! Exercise is painful! Fat is fun! Skinny is bitchy! HMMMM. Maybe my phycie is a little screwed up... I am a great encourager of P having a sleep over \"friend\" BUT can you imagine seven little Ps running around? P P P P P P P. Talk about a firey Rhodie!
Evil would really lose it. Of course Evil should also be allowed a friend. Oh my .....
