So the bird is screeching (what can I say....... only the males sing!), Luna is dozing (more on him later) and the "I wanna be a migraine when I grow up" head I woke up with has been shoved back into the box where it lives when it's not making me see life in black and white (cause I actually don't register color during some of my migraines) and threatening to blow out half of my skull....... So life is good........... Sort of......

I'm going to comment, once again, about my take on the "state of the union" here at DS and then hopefully leave it behind me once and for all.

Bereavement SUCKS! The narrow-minded, holier-than-thou, wah-wah-wah whiney little "if you don't see it like I do then you're BAD" group of yahoos have won their battle for dominance and everything about those boards now feels disingenuous and wrong to me. Whereas the Bereavement board once felt like an open and loving embrace for all who came, it now resembles a life, soul and idea crushing squeeze of an enormous SNAKE! Cause if you don't see it their way they WILL crush the independence and identity right out of you! Our President would be SO proud! (Oops! Did that just come out of my mouth/fingers? lol) As a result, I am mourning the death of Bereavement as a place of safety and solace where we could ALL go for help and comfort.

In a small and immediate kind of way, Lisa represented the heart of the reason DS was such a miracle. She was broken...... REALLY BROKEN! It was deep inside her bones and occasionally came out through her pores..... Was she tactful? Probably not. Did she understand some of the finer points of online etiquette? Probably not. Did she perhaps obsess about something others of us might have let go of? Maybe.......... BUT HELLO!!!!!! That's the definition of BROKEN!!!!!!!! When your filters don't work and you can't control yourself and it's hard to focus on the things that really need your attention because you don't want to or are unable to then it usually means YOU'RE BROKEN!!!! She needed this place...... Of us all, she was the one who was having most difficulty making progress....
Not because her pain was bigger or less manageable, but because she was less able to recognize how much and how far it was driving her. She made it her mission to save this place because she believed it had saved her........ And you know what? This place needed saving. Just not in the way she thought. DS is diseased and it's not isolated to Bereavement. It's on the Depression boards. It was on PTSD. It's spilling onto other boards and there seems to be no vaccine......
Lizzie was a catalyst. Although I have to say that whoeversheis is now using LOTS of identities with LOTS of issues that somehow all seem to have the same "voice". I don't know how to describe it. It's in the tone of the writing. It's in the way the "problems" are referred to and discussed. It's in the plaintive cries for "help"........ Lizzie was BOTH a catalyst and a symptom. The disease seems to be egotistical self-righteousness and the narrow-minded assurance that there is only one way to make things "right".
And you can kick my ass and call me jaded but it doesn't take a PHD to know that if you can make up an identity online you can CERTAINLY find a way to act that life out on the phone! At least Lisa, for all her supposed missteps, WAS REAL!!!!!!
So I'm going to let all those holier-than-thou crusaders HAVE their boards....... I've never really liked exclusive clubs anyway and especially not with this kind of criteria for membership. Because in the end......... there is really nothing I hate more than self-indulgent, intellectual half-wits who do crappy things to other people and then wrap themselves up in the blanket of their faith secure in the knowledge that God is just as judgmental as they are!!!!!!! Blech, aack, yuk.......... the taste of this just sticks in my throat and MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE!

I have to not only agree but give you all the credit in the world for speaking up.
Lisa is indeed REAL! She is one of the most compassionate and loving people I have ever met. Broken, yes. Beaten, NEVER! She is one person who has picked herself up time after time and moves forward. Does she grieve? YES! a very real grief for a much loved sister. Does it hurt? Yes! Every time she passes a familiar place, tries to enjoy a once shared activity, holds her sister\'s grandchild, sees a picture or hears a song. Yes, she hurts! Does she have real world problems along with this? Yes, she does. She is recently single with an 8 year old. She has lost her job after almost 20 years and has to fight for unemployment compensation to live. Has this stopped her? No, she is moving ahead. She has a plan.
You see grief, divorce, unemployment and the games people play has not destroyed Lisa. Broken but determined. Guided by her goodness...she does not need to tell stories to feel good about herself. She only needs to see herself as she really is. A strong, self assured women who is sad at the losses in her life all coming almost at once. She will survive and prosper She has made friends who trasure her and will always have their support and love. They value her honesty, loyalty and valor. Her need to protect from the love she feels is understandable and appreciated.
Maybe the \"yahoos\" should look in a mirror. Maybe they should examine the games they play. Oh wait...there is no honesty they will only see the joke looking back.
Congradulations to the Yahoo Club. You win...DS has lost!
