Ok, here's a "quickie" on the new chin Luna.....

When he first got here, I slept on an air mattress next to his cage because he was so scared and shy and I didn't want him to feel afraid and alone.......
Yes, I have "pet issues" but you knew that already!

In any case, when I finally let him out of the "penthouse" (his cage, Molly's home is HUGE) to explore; one of the things I would do was shake the box of raisins (read: the equivalent of choc to a chilla)
when I was lying on the couch to get him to jump up for a treat. He likes treats........ and although he wasn't much bigger than a minute, and REALLY had to work to get up that high.......... he learned to manage it pretty quickly.

So one night, I was lying on the sofa reading while he was out exploring and I went ahead and shook the box to give him a treat and a pet and have a little "bonding" moment......... and my little trooper jumped up on the sofa at midway (about my knees), sat up on his hind legs and just stared at me and didn't move.............
Is he in a trance?
Did he not hear the box? *shake, shake, shake*
Has he gone blind?
Is he frozen?
NO !!!!!!!
He doesn't recognize me with my glasses on!!!!!
Once I take them off, he's all over me!

Hence the nickname.......... IQ 2!
That's my Luna, Momma's boy!

how funny :o) !!! I\'m getting pet issues too...Mazy, our dog, we usually keep a bit confined to the kitchen when we leave b/c she is not always as house trained when we are gone as when we are home....but today she seemed afraid of the workers (plumbers) who were in the basement (the kitchen is near the basement) and so...sigh...I left her run free, knowing that she\'d probably want to hide under our bed (which is where she goes when it thunders out). Sigh...So...we may have some messes to clean up when we get home...but she was shaking to be close to the basement..so...oh well...Yes, that is Mazy, our ferocious guard dog who is smaller than the average cat!

Too funny! I love the nickname IQ 2. Reminds me of my Scottie who after 8 years still does not recognize my husband when he walks in the door. He barks like a fool while the other two dogs happily wag their tails. We remind him daily that Daddy lives here! Pet issues...:o)

The eye glasses story does not surprise me at all. In fact isn\'t it typical of how animals behave. What a riot!!!My dogs always barked like crazy at my husband if he came in with his knitted ski hat on. They just could not accept him looking like that. Even funnier I think is that if I wear a hat when I go out to the barn to feed the ducks and goose and put them in for the night, they are all afraid of me. The foolish goose is honking her head off trying to protect the whole flock and they rest of them (all AFLAC ducks) are loud and quacking away like they about to meet their maker. You should hear when it is like in the barn with all that.I usually have to take the hat off even in the pouring rain or snow or I could spend the whole night trying to chase them into the barn while they run for their lives!! LOL As soon as I take the hat off and say \"time for bed,in the pen \" they all line up and go in the barn and into their pen.All my ducks in a row so to speak. On the one hand I can\'t decide if the whole situation makes them really smarter then we give them credit for for even noticing the hat or if it makes them really dumb for thinking I am someone different the minute I remove it. Animals are just wonderful. They give us some of our genuinely joyful moments because they are always totally sincere and honest.Like my Paul always said \" I like my animals better then most people I know\"

So I\'m curious... do you have to take your glasses off every time or has Luna gotten used to the idea that there are two of you? I\'m glad that you are allowing yourself to bond to him... He does sound so cute. Thanks for sharing the story... It makes me think of special stories with my pets...
