I try, on a pretty regular basis, to go through my "friends" list and check on how everybody is doing. Sometimes, I respond and others I do not. But lately, I have begun to be aware of how small our "world" here at DS is (which is counter-intuitive I know) and how lucky I feel to be part of it.
You see, I've been noticing how often my friends turn up, with love and support in bunches and tons, on the pages of other friends' journals. This place seems much like the net under a high-wire act. Each of the strands are strong on their own, but when you weave them together the whole is so very much stronger than any individual in it. If I don't have the words or the courage or the fortitude to respond to a journal entry of a friend.......... I look at other responses and lo and behold there's Lisa with smile and a hug or flatline (I'm not using names I'm not sure about kiddies because one MUST respect the "copyright" on personal identity! *smile*) with her intuition, carasmom who at one time or another has played "mom" to us all, vox with her insight and clarity, Lari with her strength and optimism, AngelKisses with her heart on her sleeve (whether she knows it or not *smile*), noah'sark with her endless ability to keep us all "afloat" as it were........ and of course my simbelsa; my first friend, who always helps me get my feet back under me even when I'm the one who's pulled the rug out! I could go on and on and I probably should but I hope you know who you are and also that I'm writing this entry for you and yours too.
The point is that, when one of us is "broken" the others are still there....... The net doesn't break just because one piece of it is all stretched out. It's a good thing too because even though we're all part of the webbing in the net, each of us has to take their turn on the high-wire as well. That's what life is really.......... Knowing that you're on the wire and also that, if you're lucky, you've got a net to catch you when you fall. For me............ for the longest time............. it felt like the only thing between me and the concrete............. was air..............
So thanks you guys.
Do you know how wonderful you are?
Well, at least try to know it a little bit now.

Thanks for the stock tip...I could use it about now! And wow. I\'m a little surprised to hear that I\'m able to help you get your feet back under yourself when half the time I don\'t even know where my own are! But I guess that\'s just the point of what you\'re saying here, how we take turns helping each other out when we\'re able to and get help from others when we need it. And by the way, I\'ve recovered enough from my panic this morning and had a long sleep today, so long that I didn\'t get up in time to make it to the library and the home improvement store. But once again my procrastination outdid itself, such that I ended up getting more accomplished than if I had done what I set out to do. Since I had no books to read and no projects to work on this night off of work (I wanted to tile a small area in my kitchen), I had no choice but to start on a paperwork project since all my procrastination methods failed me today. Do you know how hard it is to START something that technically doesn\'t have to be done quite yet, but should be done soon so as to have its maximum benefit? But I did it. I started it and I put a major dent in it. And it was fun! It wasn\'t at all painful. And I did it so efficiently that now I have time to spare. I have time to download last night\'s \"Lost\" episode and then watch it. Only now it is going to be a reward to myself rather than a \"chore.\" Maybe I subconsciously messed up the VCR last night so as to trick myself into starting the project. Don\'t you just love it? Whose the one now who pulled her own rug out from under her own feet? Why didn\'t I just do what needed to be done in the first place?
Thanks for your beautiful insight and sharing those words as well. You do indeed have a way of making one see things from another perspective and it is so refreshing. I wish you joy, today and every day. I love you so much and I too truly appreciate all of my friends here. I don\'t know what I\'d do without you.
Peace
