Today:

I cooked some,
cleaned some,
graded some,
paid a bill or two,
negotiated a battle about money
with my husband
to a peaceful resolution
that made both of us feel better
and maybe
I even started
slipping out of
my concrete overshoes.

I would hate to be stuck
at the bottom of the ocean
when the sky turned blue
and it finally started feeling
like Spring was in the air.
