Hello my beloved. My baby girl, my Molly........
Two weeks ago tonight..... now, you looked at me and woofed a cry. Laying next to me on the sofa. Wrapped up in warm, clean, snuggly bath towels. Like a little nest. So if you needed something or wanted something, I was right next to you to get it. Holding your water bottle. Feeding you small pieces of alfalfa. Tucking you in, rubbing your head and your ears while you slept so peacefully. I thought it would all be ok. You were going to make it. You'd just seen Doc Haas, we had power again. Everything was going to be ok.

Only I knew, I knew when I heard that sound you made. That sound I never heard before and I knew it was wrong. Really wrong. And I forced some water into you and picked you up and you were just this little rag doll. And I knew. And I called the Doc only he couldn't have gotten to you soon enough. And you looked up at me and I was crying and sobbing and begging you not to leave me..... and I know, I know that we looked at each other and neither of us knew how we were going to go on without the other. And I watched you draw your last breath. I know, you know I was right there with you. And you were looking at me, and you loved me.................................... and you were gone.
And I cried and I cried and your Doctor, well he listened to me do all of it. Then I ended the call. And I lay down next to you. And I was completely alone.

I miss you as physical pain. I'm empty, lost, like part of me left with you Molly. Maybe so you wouldn't get lost. Because I know you're in heaven. You are heaven honey. But I think maybe I got lost on my way back. Like I took you to your first day at school and missed a turn somehow on the way home. So sometimes, I'm not just missing you. Sometimes I'm missing you and missing me. Because I'm not all together yet. Because being all-together meant you. You and me was me all-together.

I love you Midget. My baby, my buddy, my very best friend. And I hope you are safe and happy and very well loved. Because you are....... for always, for me.

Good night Molly. Good bye my beloved.
Good night.
