Well, I guess that a birthday is a good time to reflect on your life and maybe light a little candle (emotionally speaking) on a cupcake just because. Christopher's sick, Molly's gone and yesterday is beginning the journey into memory; so it looks like I'll be spending the day on my own. Ok. I've done that before.... on more birthdays than I care to remember... so at least the territory is familiar. Spending the day cleaning house and doing other chores sounds a little too passive-aggressive and one martyr in the family is more than enough. It's time for me to remember that being alone doesn't neccessarily mean being lonely and I learned to make peace with myself about that a very long time ago. So I think I'll get dressed and head out to see what inspiration strikes me and where fate might want to take me. Now, just because I can:

Have yourself a happy little birthday
Give yourself a smile
Take some time to celebrate a little while
Here you are on a golden day
Your year older day, once more
All those things that you have to do
They will wait for you, be sure
If you think that you have been forgotten
Know that you have not
Everything you are means you've got quite a lot
This could be the very best day ever
If you'll just allow
You've done that for others so you do know how
To have yourself
A happy little birthday
Now

I love you Molly
