Things have been a bit crazy here lately.  Everything with me personally is overall good and I'm seeing someone, though we're not super serious yet.  We've been friends for years and he's a great guy and father to his 9 year old daughter (he's a single dad)...so we'll see where God leads.
Things around me though are crazy lately.  Within the last couple weeks I've seen gunfire (muzzle flash)...thankfully no one was hurt other then a building and a car window. Then one of the units here had a fire in it (likely from a cigarette) and the tenant died...this was just this past weekend so we're all trying to come to terms with things. It's crazy because it happened through the night and no one noticed anything until the next morning. Thankfully their windows had been closed and the building was well built with fire walls between units otherwise it could have been so so so much worse.  Sunday was like an episode from CSI with all the different emergency and investigative personnel around plus extra staff from here.  Watched them wheel the body (in a body bag) out of unit to the vehicle to be transported away.  It was one of my neighbours that noticed something was wrong and noticed the soot around one window and investigated further.  Then a few of the neighbours rushed in to see if the tenant was still in there to discover her body.  The fire smothered itself out because the windows were closed and it ran out of fuel (oxygen). Anyway...it was quite a shock and a lot to process.
It really makes you think how quickly things can change and to really try your best to make the most of today because you aren't guaranteed tomorrow.
Then the day after the fire I was awake super early and heard a car accident outside...I got up and went to check but thankfully police and emergency services were on scene before I was.
Needless to say things have been a bit unsettling...but overall am coping well.  Took a few days to process things and get back into the swing of day to day life again. I have gotten completely off track with eating foods that I shouldn't for shear convenience...but after my cousins wedding this weekend I plan to get back on track.
