Quick update as it's almost 1:30am.
Ebby and I made it back to the apartment within a few days of the previous entry. Time has been so crazy that I'm not really sure what day it was we got back.
The horribleness of all the "cheat" meals and junk over the holidays is playing catch-up and wrecking havoc on my bowels/bowel movements/anal fissures. More backed up then in a long long time. Finally getting things regular again but because things got backed up, harder, and larger, the fissures got really bad again. Back to regular sitz baths, daily dosing (4 days/doses so far) of Restoralax (PEG). Back into daily movements but so hard and painful that I feel sometimes like I'm going to black out. Will keep working on things. Have increased the fiber foods, plenty of greens and water. Hoping to reach a happier place soon in terms of all that. Actually ended up having 2 bm's today which is I guess good despite the discomfort. Hopefully that means some less old and less hard stuff will be coming soon. *fingers crossed* I know, very much tmi but I need to vent my frustrations somewhere and this is basically my health journal....so this is the spot.
Funny how when I started coming here years ago it was complaining about how "shitty" (pun semi-intended) life was and to deal with my mental health. Well...I'm still complaining about shit but not from a mental health perspective anymore.
I've got my volunteer application form all filled out except one small piece that I'm waiting on a phone call about. Once that's done I'm hoping to submit it and start volunteering within a month of submission.
I've been glued to Netflix and watching My Cat from Hell! I'm soooooo addicted to that show. I had never seen it before but am learning so much. Ebby's a sweet cat and not at all a cat from hell (much the opposite if you ask me)...but the things I'm learning and implementing I'm noticing improvements in the interactions and dynamics between us. And she's not sinking her teeth into me anymore (was never anything vicious no worries there). I'm learning how to better read her body language. So I'm really hoping that the things I'm learning help with future fosters and future kitties.
I went on a date the other night with the guy I started seeing at the end of last year. We went to a fundraising bingo event in support of one of the cat rescue groups. It was cool that he was game to go. Sadly neither of us won any money but it was a great night out and fun too.
Well, I should get going...I have an eye appointment at noon and that's usually about when I've been waking up lately so I'm going to be sleepy tomorrow. Just really wanted to get an update in as I've been trying to get on the last few days and just been busy.
