Well, the 3 weeks of Flucanazole 150 mg did absolutely NOTHING! But in the meantime I have to take antibiotics for a bacterial infection. Metronidazole I think is what it's called. I hate it already and I'm only 3 doses in. So now I seem to have 3 issues going on.
The original anal fissure. Yup, still ongoing. Still using Fucidin (and antibiotic ointment) and Proctomyxcin another ointment that has antibiotic among other things in it. Both prescriptions. Doing sitz baths with Epsom salts. Restoralax (Miralax I believe is another name for it) if I start to get backed up at all...which hasn't been an issue recently...thank goodness.
Issue 2: External yeast infection covering my butt checks and crack area. OMG. It itches and burns so bad. I did 3 weeks of prescription Flucanazaole 150mg as prescribed by my doctor as well as using Canesten cream. And on very rare occassions when the itch absolutely is about to drive me mad I use a mix of the Canesten with Hydrocortisone. Only sparingly. I've tried plain yogourt application and will try it a few times more but after the initial 30 seconds of soothing relief it turned into a firey burning itchy pain. I tolerated it as long as I could...long enough to read one chapter of a book (about 15 min) and then I had to wash it off. I couldn't deal with it anymore.
Issue 3: bacterial infection... showed up on one of the swabs the doctor did for the anal and yeast infection stuff. So treating that. My body feels miserable on the antibiotics. I just want to sleep. And really I should be in bed now. But I need to vent first.
My appetite is down. I have over the last month made a lot of changes to the way I eat and am much much better at portion control...but I'm having a hard time now even getting the minimum daily requirement of calories in. I'm trying to workout when I can but my body is protesting. I make sure to change to clean dry clothes after if I'm not hopping in the bath or shower right away. I am thinking I might need to do a candida cleanse and then special diet for a bit after the antibiotics are done. I think I'll seek the advice and guidance of a naturopathic doctor first though.
Things are getting so uncomfortable that I even showed my mom my butt tonight. Bless her, she came over to help me out some tonight. Yup...30 year old grown woman and I showed her my butt.
I have another suspicion though. I've been using Cottenelle moist wipes...and I'm getting a gut feeling that the chemicals in those may very well be contributing to my issues. I'm going to have to try to find a more natural alternative but I hate that it probably won't be flushable. Oh well...minor inconvenience I guess if it does the trick. I'll just dispose of them in the Litter Locker II that I put Ebby's litter waste into. So I'm going to research that as well because I definitely feel a lot cleaner and use a lot less waste and don't clog the toilets when I use the wet wipes.
So anyway....I have one more medical doctor appointment related to this stuff next Thursday but I'm 99% sure I'm going to seek out a Naturopathic doctor as well because this is just ridiculous. I can't be taking all these different meds that are messing up my body more and making me feel lousy and causing other issues to develop if I can find another way. I know medicine has it's place and that's why I'm taking the meds but I believe a lot can be done naturally as well.
All this stuff is really affecting my quality of life and my mental health. So if you're reading this and the praying type please pray for a resolution to this soon. I think at this point I'd sit nude in a pile of dog crap if I was convinced it would help. Thankfully I'm not convinced of that. LOL. But I am getting desperate.

I think a naturapath would be a good idea. There must be some herb out there that would help. Keep eating yogurt and probiotics even ic you can\'t stand applying it directly to rash....it does burn! Even a few minutes several times a day will help though..I know my grandkids got a prescription for something called \"magic butt cream\" don\'t know what is in it but it works.
