Christmas and New Years both went well. I survived, and even enjoyed, the holidays with family and in the past week have had 2 dates with an old friend. Last night was the 2nd date and we got to ring in the New Year together. Was wonderful! First year, probably since I was a child, that I have enjoyed the holidays and not been over medicated, stressed, or depressed.
My foster kitty Pepper leaves me tomorrow (in about 11 hours) and starts her next step on her journey to her forever home. She goes to the local SPCA (no-kill shelter). This is bittersweet. It's a great opportunity for her to get exposure and hopefully the right family will see her and fall for her and she'll get to a nice home soon. Unfortunately being in a shelter, whether in a kennel or a foster room with other kitties isn't going to be the greatest for her but the opportunity will be worth it in the end. I know tomorrow I'll be emotional and probably shed some tears. I've already shed some tonight.
2012 was full of many good things and a number of challenges. I discovered a passion that both pushes me to my limits and yet keeps me fighting through it...if you don't know what it is I'll make it easy...it's cat rescue! :) I made it the ENTIRE year with not one visit to the hospital...no admissions and no ER visits. I did not once ever cut in 2012 though I did come close a number of times. No overdoses either! Am I were I want to be?? NOPE, not even close, but I'm well on my way and I'm so thankful and grateful!
That's about it from me. I should get back to dishes and getting Pepper's things together. Maybe I'll have a hot chocolate first. Gonna try to make it an early-ish night with some major cuddles and spoil Pepper and Ebby rotten tonight. :)
