It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. - Alan Cohen  Oh my, what is with these lazy lazy days I'm having!  Not sleeping through the night I'm sure is contributing somewhat.  Coffee helps, but I refuse to get stuck in that cycle again...so no coffee today. My Aunt is out of surgery.  That's all I know so far.  My mom called me to say that she and my other Aunt were waiting in her room for her to come up from recovery...just as she told me that they were wheeling her bed in so mom quickly let me go.  As far as I'm concerned, for my Aunt, the easy part is done...not that surgery is easy.  But now she has a painful recovery ahead of her I imagine.  I believe they say 3 months with this surgery she had on her back.  So looking at it that way, the easy part which is going to the hospital super early, having the pre-op done, getting the anaesthetic, and having the surgery is the easy part.  The hard part is dealing with the pain, the recovery, the meds, the time, the change of pace/lifestyle for however long, and not being able to do the normal things she does daily.  Her daughter and son-in-law have moved into her home for awhile to look after her and her husband (who has dementia).  Continued prayers appreciated. I heard from my LTD providers today wondering if I had a confirmation from the disability pension people yet about receipt of my application....I said yes and also that I was told I'm approved, which completely shocked my LTD provider as she said it usually takes many months for the application to be reviewed and a decision to be made.   I also heard from an Occupational Therapist at the mental health clinic I go to.  I've been on a waiting list for a new one for probably close to a year and now I have one.  I will meet with him next week.  I think that's great timing as I'm just looking into getting started with volunteer opportunities and work towards getting back to work now that things are stabalizing and I'm feeling better.  Well, I should get back to working on my project I'm working on for a swap.  I need to collect 100 quotes and I'm at 30 something.  I didn't realize our partners had been assigned yet but now that I know they have I need to get it done.
