Turned out to be a pretty good day...except I am still awake and haven't even tried to go to bed yet...opps!  It's 1:20am.  I'll head to bed shortly. I ended up getting ready and hopping on the bus to get as close to my sisters as I could...bus doesn't go quite all the way and had my dad pick me up at the bus stop.  Went to my sisters for a bit and tried some of the food she brought back from her trip (yummy)...but I don't remember what any of it was called or spelled.   After that mom and I went to were my other sister was working so I could try on some clothes, b-day ideas for that sister.  It was like some sort of cloth-trying-on-marathon...haha, but it was fun.   Then went back to my other sisters for supper and to see all her pictures.  Supper was delicious...always is out there....her husband is awesome in the kitchen.  Tonight was Greek.  I love food!  Hehe. After that my parents drove me home.  It started snowing and we're suppose to get a snow storm.  Crazy!   My aunt is going in for back surgery tomorrow morning.  They're trying an experimental procedure using cow bone...I hope it works.  The surgeon is suppose to be a fantastic one. I decided what I'm doing for my birthday Friday.  I wanted to do something but don't want it to be too crazy...so decided to invite some friends and family for an informal open house finger-food potluck.  People can come and go as they please from 5pm-10pm.  If they want to bring simple finger foods for the potluck they can but are not obligated.  No hard feelings if someone doesn't show up but if they want to come that's great.  I wish you were closer so I could invite you.  I feel like you here are all my friends.   I leave now with more thoughts to ponder from a blog I StumbledUpon.  What profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Published by jesus_loves_you   I want to give everything away.  Possessions are hurting me lately.  Everything I own makes me sad.  My phone.  My car.  My shampoo.  My clothes.  There’s too much.  It’s just not fair.  Why should I have a 2-Disc Special Edition Little Mermaid when there are people who don’t have food?  It’s breaking my heart.  Everything I own makes me feel guilty, greedy, dirty, terrible.  I can’t believe I’ve lived for so long and not realized how greedy I am until now.  How greedy we all are.  We’ve changed the word need so much.  People say that they “need” a new car, or they “need” nicer clothes.  What people need is love.  What people need is generosity.  How could we care about ourselves so much and others so little?  This is ridiculous.  It upsets me.  I upset me.  Everything I “own” repulses me.  It’s disgusting.

When Jesus walked the earth with his disciples, he enjoyed the good things. He even got upset with Judas for being angry at the woman who anointed his feet. Jesus said the poor you will have with you always.
So don\'t be repulsed by your materialism, you have just become aware and that is a good thing...you are being called to change and grow. The whole \"green\" Movement is calling us away from selfishness and towards greater generosity. Some are called to give themselves as missionaries like Mother Theresa\'a daughter\'s of charity, some to give till it hurts, some to give more because much has been given to them. Some can only give the widow\'s mite. But we all can do better, that is so true.Living simpler is living better, it gives us more time for important things like prayer and service. I didn\'t mean to write a sermon, but hey you were being too hard on yourself, instead PTL! because once you were blind but now you see!
Love ya,
Nan

opps, I should have made it clearer that the last bit is from another blog I came across by someone else. It just made me think so I shared it.

But you can \"write a sermon\" anytime...I enjoying reading your comments. :)
