I went to the group tonight and it went okay. It was hard to be there...but it was a good kind of hard. I didn't say a whole lot but just mainly listened and observed. So many in the group are older and say they have been struggling since childhood....and even though I feel like I've been going through my stuff for a long time...I'm glad I'm trying to get it figured out now instead of waiting until I'm in my 40's, 50's, 60's as most of the members are. I could definitely relate to a lot of what was said and experiences and almost every 5 minutes I felt like crying about something although I did hold it back. It was good though...informal and relaxed and everyone in the group (including those who it's run by) have had (or do have) depression. I think it will be a good thing. I may after a few more sessions invite my friend (the one with the marital issues) to come too. I think she could benefit. I just need to figure out if it would be beneficial or not having one of my friends there at the same time...I'm not sure. I will wait until I have gone at least another time or two before I decide. Anyway, I am doing alright. I am kind of sleepy though so drinking a warm cup of honey and lemon water and then going to try to sleep. I see my mental health nurse (counselor, therapist, whatever you want to call her) tomorrow and I'd prefer not to sleep through it a second day in a row.

Yeah, I think I\'d wait till I was comfortable in the group before you bring someone, it might cause you to hold back in the discussions. Sometimes the anonymity of strangers makes it easier to participate.
