http://freebrindi.blogspot.com/ This link above (I'm not sure if I've mentioned it in the past or not) is a link to a local ladies blog about her dog Brindi that is (and has been since July 24, 2008) impounded for minor offences and facing death row.  It sickens me that the city I live in is not taking action on this case and working with the owner of this animal to come to some sort of agreement.  They are charging her daily to keep her dog impounded and denying her even the right for her or anyone else to visit with her dog.  They are refusing to allow the dog to be put in foster care while this whole situation/story is before the courts.  There is so much to this story that just sickens and disgusts me and I can't help but wonder what I can do...what anyone can do.  Professional dog trainers have stated this dog can be rehabilitated and the owner is willing to pay to have a professional dog trainer work with her but the city is refusing to allow that but instead wants to push for this dog (who is not an aggressive dog) to be euthanized.  Oh, I could write so much.  The court date is not until mid-December and Brindi is the true victim here...being forced to be confined to a cage with little to no human or even animal contact...being taken on short pee breaks with the use of a rabies pole...being held in a cage...etc...for months on end.  This case makes me mad.   Besides the blog (link provided above) there is also a facebook group set up at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=35473542760 with more information and even ways to help financially if you show choose.  Between the legal fees and being charged for keeping Bindi in the pound the owner is facing a serious amount of expenses likely totally thousands of dollars.  If I wasn't on such a strict budget I would be helping financially as much as I could.  If anyone out there is able to help financially, legally, or in any way I would be so greatful.  That is one of my Christmas wishes this year...to see that Brindi, if not allowed to return to her original owner, at least be able to leave the pound and enter into the care of a household that would love her and have her properly trained...I don't want to see this dog living in the pound, incaged, for another couple months.  It's just not humane.    This case is just so sad and I don't know what to do.
