Had a wonderful day today. So glad I got to church today and on communion Sunday too. :) In the past I used to dread those Sundays, now I look forward to them. The service was good but I didn't seem to get much out of it today. At the end of our meet and greet time though a friend that I know from somewhere other then church walked up to me and asked to sit by me. He only goes to this church occassionally. He's a great guy as a friend. But what I'm going to say next might sound mean... do you know what I mean when I say he smelled like a student? Or like your clothes have been worn too much without being washed. Just an unclean smell. He himself was clean, but the clothes weren't. It was distracting me, bothering me a bit....and I was thinking about it...and the Lord came to me and said...you've got to get used to it if you want to help the homeless because this is nothing. Then I was like you're right Lord, and at that moment the smell no longer bothered me. I tried to smell it and I couldn't. It was like the Lord was saying, if you want to help those people you are going to need to be immune to things such as smell. It's a bit hard to explain but it was an eye opening moment for me for sure. Instead of getting all uncomfortable, and bitter at this person for wearing dirty smelly clothes, and getting all angry about this that and the next thing, I took it as an opportunity to grow. Anyway, got invited to seniors ladies lunch today and had a great time. There was a couple there that weren't seniors either...but I ended up having a great chat with the man (yes man) I was sitting next to. And he was talking about testimonies and how to give one and that it's not imortant to tell the whole story, but just some pieces...and if the person is really interested then they will ask for more. It was interesting. After lunch though the lady that invited me drove me home and she knew I hadn't gotten to the food bank this past week because I needed to help a friend so she handed me $20 and a $10 coupon to put towards groceries. I didn't want to take it but then God told me to take it and told me it was because I tithed....despite everyone telling me I shouldn't. So I thanked the lady and gave her a big hug....I could've cried. Anyhow after that I've barely moved. I'm so tired physically so I've just lazed around on the computer most of the day. Alternating between facebook and second life. Need to get up and get ready for bed now...only problem is I feel like I'm too tired to get up. *shrugs* Alright...sooner I get up and get ready the sooner I will get to sleep. Goodnight.
