Hello, my dear friends,I thought I'd write & tell you a little about my past & how it's affected my present.  My knee is bothering me quite badly today.  I don't recall injuring it, but that doesn't mean anything.  I was born with a leg that wasn't formed right.  One bone was missing (the smallest), the leg was shorter, & the foot was thinner & only had 3 toes.  They tried for years to stretch my leg, but weren't able to.  They didn't have the knowledge they do these days.  So, at age 7, apparently having my foot was preventing proper development to the rest of my leg.  They chose to  amputate my foot.  It was traumatic (I think), but I adjusted quite well.  My mom tells me after I awoke from the surgery, I was climbing my crib singing "Davy, Davy Crocket..."  Children mend quickly & easily with  not too major surgery. I'm sure prayer also made the difference. I also had no arch on my other foot.  They kept a watch on it, on a regular basis, hoping one would develop.  But, it never did.  I was as active as any other child...maybe more than some.  I loved sports, roller & ice skating, running, playing ball, gym class & more than I can't think of.  I won many races & it was such fun.Jump to today...Over time, these things have taken their toll on me.  I now have a chronicly bad back, off&on pain in my hips, an ankle that's not only flat, but goes way over inward, so I have to wear a brace, & may need surgery, so I don't lose it, & now I have pain in my knee of my amputated leg, which has always been unstable.I do my best not to complain about these things.  This is just my burden to bear, as others have theirs.  I make the best of it, & hope to start a very gentle version of Yoga, to help loosen me up, & possibly prepare me for something cardio.God has been so good to me.  He sees me through each difficulty, be it physical, emotional or mental.  Having God as your Father, & Jesus as your Saviour doesn't make your life easier, it just gives you someone to lean on & ask for help, who loves you unconditionally & is always there for you.  The Holy Spirit & Jesus pray to God for you, when you don't know how to pray.  Having God makes life worth living.Thank you for reading my journal.  I must trust you to have opened myself up so much.  I love & appreciate all of you.Debi
