I thihk I'm developing optic neuritis.  Last night my right eye started aching.  It hurts more when I look around.  When I don't move it, it is just a dull ache.  If it still hurts tomorrow I will ask the doctor that I transcribe for, who happens to be an ophthalmogist, if he can work me in tomorrow afternoon when I go by and pick up charts.  I'm told this is something that should be dealt with right away.  Every day is a new day, eh?  I also have some numbness on that side of my head and my TN started to flare up again.  Fun, fun...  ~Jlynn

Oh my.Do you use moisturizing eye drops at nite? Maybe they would help just a little by moistening the eye? I pray the TN does not flare again.Sorry I know nothing abt TN except that is is intensely painful. You are in my thoughts & prayers.Stay steady, stay strong my friend.

I should have added that the Tegretol takes care of the TN pretty quickly. I count my blessings all the time that I found something that works on the TN. I remember how it felt before I got the medication. A horrible existence. My heart goes out to all who suffer with TN and no relief except time. ~Jlynn

Is optic neuritis a symptom of ms, or something new? I\'m sorry you\'ve got something else to deal with. It must be so hard to be in pain so much of the time, & never know what to expect next. I pray that you will find some answers & some relief.
God bless you & your precious son.

I do believe it is an MS symptom. It\'s my first experience with it, though. It is still just a dull ache, so hopefully it will stay that way until I can get it looked at. Thanks for the kind words. ~Jlynn

Optic neuritis is what I got durring Christmass. My right eye was pointing up and to the right. Ofcourse I lost all vision for about 4 months out of that eye. It slowly came back though. The pain is bad. Have the doc give you a scrip of pericet or something. Any movement really hurts. When you dream your eyes move alot so you wake with more pain than what you went to bed with. I am so sorry that this has happened to you and yes it is a common symtom of MS. If you have any questions about this write a message to me. I will be gone starting Wednesday morning until the week end; I hope I can make it till the week end. I\'m going to a friends beach house just south of Tillamook.
You take care. I farly certin that you will be fine because the dull ache was happening twowards the end of the pain sequence of the neuritis. It came on real fast for me.
Take care Jlynn or should I call you 32?
