After a good crying jag and a relatively decent night's sleep I feel a little bit better today.  I am still concerned about almost running that red light yesterday.  When I am driving, I almost feel like I have had a couple glasses of wine.  I look at the light, see that it is red or green, and then have to try and remember which one means stop and which one means go.  My brain has slowed down drastically.  I was an honor student, for crying out loud!  And I never had to take notes.  I just remembered what was discussed.  Now I can't even remember what to do at an intersection.  I also find that I am saying or typing a completely different word than I meant to.  I'm a transcriptionist, so this is extremly disturbing to me.  Is this normal?  Can it be reversed?

I find that I can\'t spell and I was always good at spelling. I also reverse letters more now.

I also noticed all morning that my right leg seems a bit hesitant when I walk. It takes just a second or two longer than my left leg. I can\'t make it stop. It is very subtle, but my ex-husband was here and noticed it, too.

jlynn,
I know what your discribing. I have a tendency to do the same thing. When this happens are you thiking about driving just before this happens or are you in deap thought aout lifes troubles just before you encounter this situation? It does make a difference. I constantly have to lift up my hands to determine which is right and left. Sounds like the same type of concentation disorder that can be caused by stress of an actuall cognitive disorder. I don\'t blame you for being concerned it just depends in which context this happens in.
I with I could be of some help to you but just maybe I have given you some things to think about. You are not crazy....OK!!!

I understand your concern. Back in 1995, I was driving to my university class and stopped for gas. I drove a standard and honestly forgot how to start it. I asked the gas attendant for a boost, because I thought the battery died. After he asked if I had pushed in the clutch, I felt so stupid, I skipped my class and went straight home to bed crying. Wasn\'t until years later, that I can associate that and other episodes/symptoms/flares that were most likely my pre-diagnosed MS. I did finish the course with an 80% average, so my cognitive abilites did return - but I notice problems now and have the same fears you have.
