These are my beautiful boys. I did have a daughter that I have not told you all about. I was six months pregnant when her dad beat me up. I lost her. We had a house full of his friends and nobody did anything to help. Her name was to be Rebecca Robin. This was in 1986, two years before my youngest son Jake was born. I called my sister who drove me to the hospital. It was too late. I was not given the option of a funeral. They called it a miscarrage. One sweet life that just was not meant to be. I don't let myself think of this child as real very often. I never saw her so she could not be real.

Your boys are precious...and such a horrible tragedy that about your daughter...hugging you tight...Karen
Adorable boys!!
I cry with you for the loss of Rebecca. What a horrible tragedy, and at the hands of the father. I\'m so very sorry. My son Brice left my womb in 1985, five months into my pregnacy. There was no funeral, and little recognition given to him. I was told so many times that I had not lost a baby, I had \"merely\" had a miscarriage. All the \"helpful\" things were told to me and it was easy to talk myself into that...it was less painful that way. It was only after Kala\'s accident that I started talking to my son and gave him a name. I now proudly, and sadly, answer 3 when asked how many children I have. We do what we have to do, given the knowledge that we have at the time, to get through the tragedies of our lives. You\'ve done nothing wrong by placing her little life in a safe and deep part of your heart. Nothing wrong in rationalizing to yourself that she couldn\'t have been real since you did not see her. But today, you have honored her greatly by speaking her name and sharing her story. There is a precious one in Heaven today smiling on her mommy. Her name is Rebecca Robin.
Colleen, those are some beautiful boys !!! I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Rebecca Robin and hope that it helps in the healing to talk about her also. Sending you a big hug, Kim
Colleen those are beautiful boys. So sorry to hear about your daughter it\'s amazing what people will do. Holding you tight. Love and hugs Cathy
Those are the most precious boys...they look full of energy and spunk. I\'m sorry to hear about the loss of your unborn child, Rebecca. I understand how easy it was not to feel real. I\'ve had miscarriage also...I was young, so it seemed a relief at the time but have had silent issues with it from time to time, but especially since Daren died--not major issues but it tosses into my head frequently...the what if\'s...I try not to go there.
Take care,
Ann
Colleen, such precious boys. I\'m so sorry to learn about your daughter. Loss is hard, no matter the circumstances. I think it\'s natural to think of her and replay those events in your mind, but think of her with Jeff and maybe you can smile. All my love. Robin
