When Jeff passed I took over his cell phone and gave mine to my husband. I wanted Jeff's because it has his voice on the email. My other sons have asked me to take Jeff's voice off because it huts them to call me and hear him. I love all of my sons but this is all that I have left of Jeff.  At work all of our phone calls are recorded so I had my boss email me Jeff's recording. I plan to back up the message on a disc that I can listen to all I want. I still don't want to take the message off my phone. How can they even ask it of me? I am the mother, he's my chold and he's dead. It's my phone. If you do not want to hear my beautiful message don't call me or just let it ring twice.  Why do I feel like I'm a bad mother if I leave it on? My dad says life is for the living, so take it off. What about me and my needs? I'm alive. I had a very busy weekend cleaning house and cooking. I'm turning into quite the domestic goddess. Wouldn't it be swell  if I could be a housewife now thatI have a house?

I have Frazer\'s phone too. I like it because he always had it with him and I feel like I always have a part of him with me. It is a vodafone phne so I could just swap SIM cards so his answer phone message is now in my old phone. I ring it often just to hear his voice. You do waht is right for YOU. You are right, he is YOUR son. xox

I have Martins phone next to my bed. I just got him the phone a week before he died. It still has his last text messages he sent on it and it has his voice on the message. I do not have the heart to cancel the phone or change his message and people think I am crazy also but I still like to call him once in a while and hear his voice. When people tell me otherwise I remind them that I would rather have him alive.

I still have the last message my son ever sent to me on my voice mail. When I really get to missing him I listen to it. I don\'t care what anyone thinks, it makes me feel better to hear to his voice.

Until October of this year we had Alex\'s phone, complete with his message...I would call him regularly to \"just hear him\"...almost always made me cry. It is hard to do things for yourself and for others...love to you...Karen

Colleen, keep the message if it makes you feel closer to Jeff. You\'ll know when it\'s time to take it off. Your kids will understand. I too wish I could stay at home. In my dreams (lol). Love Robin

They never found John\'s phone, but I have his voice mail message on my computer. My son-in-law downloaded it for me so I\'d always have it. I understand how you feel and I think you should tell your family how you feel and you do have the right to keep it as it is. The balance again, it\'s tough. Sorry you are struggling love and hugs Cathy
