Spring is finally here and it is good to see the kids out riding their bikes again and playing in the sand box. Spring comes and life starts to bloom again and it reminds me so poignantly that life goes on and renews itself each year. The kids are getting much better and managing their grief in a positive way. The counseling is helping and they will attend a group with other kids their age next month for six weeks. Lately they have been asking for stories about their Dad and it is good to give them all positive messages and talk about him in a good way without him or his family to change that. I only want themt to remember the love he had for them and how much love went into creating their world. It can only help them to be more secure. I seem to have hit a point of peace these days. I have been working hard at letting go and trusting, not an easy thing for me to do. I do not have control even though at times I like to believe the illusion that I do. It actually feels more comfortable when I can let go and allow a higher power to work in my life. I am going to take the kids to Florida for the week of the anniversary. I decided that last month when we were all struggling to find our footing. I am glad that I made that choice. It will be just the four of us together and spending time together as a family. I know that they will miss a week of school but this is more important. That we be together as a family and get through that week as a family and be strong together. I don't know what will come tomorrow but the beauty of living in the day is that I don't have to. I have what is in front of me and living it one day at a time is not always easy but always worth the work that goes into it. Hope everyone is enjoying some spring beauty today!
