There are many things that I am angry about.  I just finished reading a book about kindness.  The foreword of the book was written by the author of the book and movie "Pay It Forward."  (I was really touched by the movie and have seen it a couple of times, and I just got the book from the library.)  She states, "Since the release of the movie, hundreds of people have told me that the book or movie put a voice to something they've tried to do all their lives."  My biggest goal in life is to try to make the world a better place.  I'd hoped to do this with an exciting career in international relations, but chronic illness has so far prevented me from that for the past 8 years, being unable to work.  So, instead of making a difference through a career, for years I was gung ho, pouring all of my efforts into my neighborhood, 4 years of work and fighting with the homeowners board to get a playground built, trying to have neighborhood barbecues, babysitting co-ops, moms gatherings and playgroups, game nights, taking a plateful of homemade goodies to each person that moved into one of the 53 townhouses on the street, and more.  But people just want to keep to themselves.  The only thing I got out of all of that effort, love, and yearning for friendship is that I am the first one that most of them call when they need something, never offering anything in return.  So now I have pulled way back and just wave a simple hello to them.  I now treat them as they treat me - with indifference and lack of caring because I've been so hurt after reaching out so many times. I am a very goal-oriented person and I am so far away from the life that I had planned for myself.  I'm trying to figure out how to get back on track with my limitations (low-income, fibromyalgia, ADD, anxiety disoder, etc.).
