Got Moved!!!!!!! Getting Settled in Pretty Well.  Now, having anxiety like crazy at work, was upping the xanax on my own.....my left fingers and hand get numb and it starts the cycle.  went to see my primary care two days ago,  he changed me to klonopin, which i haven't filled, and gave me a two week starter sample packet of lexapro.  i stand there and shake at work, he also gave me topol xl and told me to break it in half.  Well, listen i don't know about taking heart affecting drugs for this.....has anyone heard of this before.......in the last two days, have been battling a chest cold that has drained me also.  I cannot get myself to take the lexapro.  any support here will be greatly appreciated...................please help me d.s. friends, i am about to cope anywhere i go it seems except to work...................i 've only worked this job since dec, i must be able to keep at it. especially with the new house..........i don't feel depressed per se, however, the anxiety each time i enter work is making me depressed.  since going to the doctor two days ago, i've not even taken the xanax.....can taking xanax make the anxiety worse.  i'd take it then 15 min later, get an attack, then slowly mellow afterwards........i am petrified of the attacks, the ongoing feeling and of the damn meds.   will lexapro make me feel strange?  that's what i am worried about..........i need help, i know, but i really am just having anxiety.  i don't want nor need a therapist, i have loads of people i can talk to , and it does help, but i am still having these attacks........advice anyone????????

Try the new meds my friend. They\'re not going to hurt or kill you. I\'m currently on Lexapro and I\'ve tried Klonopin plenty of times. The positive effects are far more rewarding than having to go through so many anxiety attacks. All you can do it try them out. If you don\'t try them then you\'ll simply never know. You can do it, my friend, I know you can. Sending good thoughts your way!

Is there anyone among your friends that can give you hypnotherapy? If not, I really recommend seeing a therapist. I know its not what you want to hear, but reading your journal entry gave me the impression that youre going crazy over your anxiety. And thats normal when you feel youve tried all the meds out there, and now have to take yet another med. I suggest that you find a good psychiatrist that can evaluate you correctly, and recommend just one med to take. Im on Lexapro, and it works. My psychiatrist told me that it reduces anxiety and obsessive thoughts. Anxious people like you and me have to learn to relax. Something as simple as a breathing exercise can be very powerful. Positive reinforcement thinking is another good example. So is meditation. The key is to train your subconscious to stop making you feel anxious. One thing that concerns me however is that your hand gets numb. Do you have a lower back problem, sciatica, or nerve damage? You did say that the whole cycle starts then. Your subconscious might be sending you anxiety signals to let you know theres something wrong. Numbness is not normal. I hope this helps. Hugs to you bud. You can lick this!
