My last entry was about my hubby falling and going for a MRI. The results were good but they are not sure what is happening.  They did bring the wheel chair on Dec. 23rd which was good because since then his physical ability has been getting worse everyday. He can no longer dress himself, go to the bathroom, shave, bathe and anything else that is daily routine.  The last PT was on December and was canceled because he could no longer participate. So it has been me alone with all of the care. We went to the primary doctor last week and her suggestion was to take him to a psychiatrist for his hallucinations. She was referring him to a drug and alcohol clinic ????? Needless to say she will not be our doctor for very long.
Our 56th wedding anniversary was Sat. 7th.  We stayed home and celebrated together. Late that afternoon we were in the bathroom and I was shaving him and when I was getting him back to the door he fell. Everytime I tried to get him up he would swing around and fall again. I had to call our son to come help get him up.  The next night he fell again and cut his arm and hurt his side. I tried again to get him up but could not. Our son and dil came to help.  They tried to talk to him and he was ( as he usually is at night or early morning) mumbling and hard to understand. Seeing him unable to get up off  the floor and difficult to understand was very enlighting. he continues to see things everywhere and picks things out of the air. It is hard to sit and watch him. Keep us in your prayers, please! Hugs to you all
They both apologized for not realizing how bad he had gotten. Of course, I know I should have communicated the problem to them better.
Since then home health has been here everyday this week. PT, OT and someone to help get a bath and shave.
Our kids have stepped up and came over so that I  could go to the grocery store and drug store. They are helping so much in every way that I have told them to go slow this could well be happening for a long time. Don't get burned out so quickly.
The home health agency is recommending we get started with hospice right away. They want  OT, Pt, nurse or helper to be here 6 days a week to help. We are hoping to hear from our doctor by tomorrow.

Linda and Jim are use to seeing him in a controlled environment, I\'m sure this has been an eyeopener for them and always knew they would step up when they are no longer into denial. GET THE HELP EVERYDAY! I know how really difficult this is for you, remember I\'m here!
Love...

Am so sorry to hear how bad it has gotten. It brings back memories of what I went through. Yes, get all the help you can. I found Hospice to be wonderful. They provided much help. Don\'t try doing it by yourself. Not only will you get burned out but you could get hurt. I\'m putting you on my daily prayer list. God will provide the strength to get through this.
Love and prayers

The kids do help when they see a problem. I am so glad that yours are. the hospic was a great help for me when alan died and for the three weeks before Pete\'s late wife passed over. A boyfriend of my youngest daughter had his Mum in the hospice for months as she died of cancer. He was a teen ager at the time and could not have dealt with it. I am sure the hospice is a good alternative for you. Hugs Marlene
