14 days smoke free 8-17-10
I have been going through an emotional rollercoaster today! Went to the gym for an hour, then went to some of an AA meeting, finally went to the grocery store and I had a major coughing attack thought I was going to wet my pants, my hands felt numb. I couldn't stop coughing, I felt like I was going to die! So then I came home had lunch, a healthy salad. My son stayed home from school today he was fighting a stomach bug. I had him drink lots of fluids, and made him lunch.
I then went and got a chest x-ray to take to my pulmonary specialist that I am going to see this week. I have been coughing since Jan-Feb.
I want to go back to work!! I haven't worked in 3 weeks. Just when I want to go back to workI have a coughing attack.

Congrats on being 14 days smoke free! What an accomplishment.
It\'s good that you got a chest x-ray since this has been going on for a while now.
Sorry you had an attack the day you return to work.
Hey, just take it easy. You are doing great with the quitting, and the body is just telling you it didn\'t like smoking. Hope you can return to work soon, and get over the coughing. Just a hint, the more you cough, the more your throat gets irritated, and the more you cough. Speaking as an asthmatic. Are you coughing up stuff, or dry cough? Hope you find an answer, soon. Are you on inhalers? That may help, too.
Thanks Angela, I got a chest x-ray today and I am going to see a specialist on Sept 1st. I am using the inhalers, its basically a dry cough it goes in spurts. Sometimes I am fine for awhile then I have a coughing attack!! It is frusterating. A lot of things have gotten better since I quit like I used to clear my throat all the time and I have stopped that for the most part.
I want to work soon! I enjoy going to work. Just want to be well, sometimes I wonder?? Hope you are well and thanks for your support!!
best wishes and good luck with the doctor...
Praying your chest x ray results come back soon. Do not worry...you will be back to work soon enough. Try to relax a bit with your time off! Congrats on another day smoke free
Stay focused on your smoking cessation...you\'ll get there...and your body can correct itself some, too...with time and patience.
