I did an egg retrieval last Friday and they got 17 eggs.  So far 2 have developed to the stage that they can be frozen.  Does anyone know what is the average amount?

All I can tell you is that my numbers were similar. 14 eggs retrieved, 7 fertilized, 2 made it to day 5 blastocysts. We ended up transferring, not freezing. Initially, I was disappointed that we didn\'t get more, but one of the two did implant & result in a BFP. So, that\'s really all that matters; right?! Good luck & keep us posted!!!

is a BFP a baby? there are so many acronyms on this site! Thanks for giving me an update on your experience. It\'s so helpful to get some insight on all this.

Yes, BFP is a positive beta test (blood draw at doctor\'s office). And you\'re right... There are about a billion acronyms in the world of infertility (well, in medicine in general)! What is the plan for you? When do you think you\'ll transfer the frozen embryos?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! you must be over the moon! What happens next? We hope to transfer in July. I\'m having eye surgery tomorrow so we needed to wait till that settles. My name is Maria by the way.
