Spiritual Warfare
You would need to understand and accept that we are Spiritual Beings created in God's likeness. In addition to the spirit, we are physical in nature with mental capacities. In psychology it is estimated that we use only 10% of the brains capacity. It is thru our thoughts that we can open a door for our spirit to connect with the spirit of Our Creator. Because of Jesus's sacrifice and resurrection, He reconciled our relationship and fellowship with Our Father.
"God is a Spirit and we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth".
The closer we move to Our Father the greater the intensity of the enemy's attack we experience for a time, this is referred to as spiritual warfare. It's the enemy's attempt to discourage and distance us from Almighty God.
There are several ways to confront this:
1)Start your day with prayer and thanksgiving... the Lord's Prayer or your own, but seek the closeness of God's Spirit.
2)Praise and Worship, going to a Christ centered church is important because to congregate brings in the unity of those who have the presence of Our Lord, which intensifies the Holy Spirit's presence. At home you can praise and worship as well, using music and videos... internet radio offers plenty of options in styles and music formate, whether it's contemporary worship songs, country, gospel, hip hop/rap, traditional, denominational, in addition to various languages. christian videos I can be watched at www.xianz.com., and some other sites as well.
3)Fasting is used as well, Daniel in the Bible gives a good foundation for it, 21 days of consuming vegetables and certain grains. Esther asks the Jews in Persia to fast as a spiritual unity for God to be with them to defeat their enemies in the empire.
4)Jesus asked us to commune in rememberance of Him, daily you can have a piece of bread (mediterranean flat bread, Matzo bread, even Flat Tortilla bread)with a glass/cup of grape juice, asking Him to bless it.
5)Tithing (10%)/Offering/ Giving, comes with a promise of provision and protection.
Ephesian 6 gives reference to the Armour of God.
For all who struggle with self harm and self injury, each time you struggle against a destructive thought, refer to a scripture verse that strengths your faith, in psychology it's called positive thinking or positive affirmations, here you are reaffirming Love and Loyalty to God.
Scriptures you can use:
"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
(Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world)
"I can do all things thru Christ Jesus that strengths me"
(Self explanatory)
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."
1 John 5:14
(I trust in the Lord, He hears me)
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
John 10:10
(Jesus came so that I might have life more abundantly)
"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the LORD." Isaiah 54:17
(No weapon formed against me shall prosper for God's Glory)
"These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well. Mark 16:17-18
(Self explanatory)
"Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.
One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple."
Psalm 27:3-4

i thank you for always watching over me when something is wrong i can always count on you to try to cheer me and and show me a different prospective and please believe me i try and try and try and it always comes down to the same thing. i just feel like im stuck between a rock and a hard place the hard place my life that i want to leave but theres no much inside my life i know i have to live for but everything i pray for i fast for this is going on a year long unanswered prayer so to me its saying it wont be answer and that there is no point in me being here struggling day in and day out in my life that wont change and is showing no signs of changing.
Thank you, my friend, for your steady voice of reason in a very complicated and very uncertain world. So many people, me included sometimes, try to take care of problems and issues myself without realizing that God is always here; just a prayer away. Every day I try to focus on one thing that is going RIGHT because the negative will always be there. Indeed, persistence IS the key! God bless!
In other words...fill the vessel that you are with Christ...Childredeemed said I should read your journal entry...Gods gracious peace to you ...its refreshing to read the words of a brother in Christs service.......Rhonda
Here\'s a good one: \"However, we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the power beyond what is normal may be God\'s and not that out of ourselves. We are pressed in every way, but not cramped beyond movement; we are perplexed, bu tnot absolutely with no way out.\" 2 Corinthians 4:7-8. With God\'s power, we can truly overcome anything.
