I was a movie buff for quite awhile and one of the first if not the first actor that drew my attention as being a christian was Stephen Baldwin, afterall he was in one of my all time favorite movies "The Usual Suspects". Well, interestingly enough there's a different perspective from which I recall parts of the movie now, the one that stands out is when Kevin Spacey walks away having committed the crime and the statement is made that (paraphrased)"the biggest trick the devil ever pulled was to make people believe he didn't exist." If we look at that with our eyes towards God, we know we are in a battle, that's why when things seem to be going good, there's an attempt to disrupt that joy... reminds you of John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." along with 1Peter 5:8 "Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour." Therefore EACH DAY as stated in Ephesians 6:16 "and in all of this, by taking up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." Use Prayer (either morning, afternoon, evening, night, all of the above) for whatever length of time (5 minutes, 15, 30, 1 hour or more), praise in your closet with a small radio, MP3, etc., in your livingroom with the stereo at good volume (be nice to neighbors), give of yourself a kind word, a blessing, change from your pocket, conversation over lunch, a hug, a smile... while Stephen Baldwin's testimony is very impressive to me, I also realized that Kevin Spacey was in the movie "Pay It Forward" an example of what Our Lord has intended us to carry out in the two commandments He emphasized. I pray to Our Father that you will all receive the strength of Our Lord to overcome the challenges of each day, the Lord bless and keep you under His guidance and protection.

Ephesian 6:10-6:18
6:10 Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. 6:11 Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. 6:13 For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand. 6:14 Stand firm therefore, by fastening the belt of truth around your waist, by putting on the breastplate of righteousness, 6:15 by fitting your feet with the preparation that comes from the good news of peace, 6:16 and in all of this, by taking up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 6:18 With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
