The pharmacy called me at 4:30 to tell me they were ready to set up delivery of my infusion medication to the clinic. Um, I am scheduled tomorrow morning for the infusion. They said they would see if they could contact the office and schedule delivery for tomorrow morning. At 5:09 pm the pharmacy called me back and said that they can't get it there until Thursday morning. I asked the rep if she asked the office if they had any on hand to give me tomorrow and she said she didn't ask. She told me to contact the office. I advised her it was after 5pm and the office was closed and she scolded me and said she just got off the phone with them.
Sure enough, I called them right away and they were closed for the day. Now I am in limbo until tomorrow morning to see if I can get my infusion on time.
I rearranged my schedule to make sure I had time to recover before my kids on on winter break. So tired of incompetence that is our medical field!
At this point, if they don't have any in the office to give me tomorrow, it will have to wait until the new year because I am not taking time away from my children while they are on winter break from school. It takes me an hour to get there, two to three hours to infuse (depending on if they have to slow it down due to a reaction or spike in my blood pressure) and an hour to get back.
Yes, I realize the treatment is important, but my children are more important. I went 11 years with Lupus and no infusions. I can make it another couple weeks.
