well, i did it! Stayed sober for another new years.part of the reason why is b/c i didnt go out but had excrutiating pain in my head due to my meds.In addition,my husband's aunt, well my aunt, too, passed away and we decided that any partied would be out of the question. new years eve is ameteur night anyway. sometimes again, people, places and things sometimes have to be changed to remain sober.I dont believe my sobriety would be tempted if i went out, i just didnt feel like being around a bunch of highly intoxicated people when i am a non-drinker.not to have the holier than thou attitude cuz thats not what im about at all but the smell of booze and the actions of others when they are tooo drunk make me ill physically and emtionally. not a good place to be.then with the death in the family, it called for a non-celebration.My hbby and i met 4 years ago yesterday so we tried to whoop it up as much as possible.he is an alcoholic turned non-drinker now too. been sober longer than me but always tries to help me with my sobriety when i need it.well....i plan to set a new new years bash for another day after all the arrangements are made and everthing is said and one. for those of you who are still struggling with their sobriety, it gets easier over time and the more holidays and events that you can stay a non-drinker for the better for you and th stronger your sobriety will become.Happy 2008.hope its better than last year for sure.this is the second day in months and months that i have minimal head pain today and am not as depressed as usual.have to go to the psych. doc. today and i thought id be telling him i may need another med switch but am starting to feel sooo much better than the last buch of months that one might not be in oorder for me.Yay!!!!I just hope not cuz i cant deal with the head pain anymore b/c its going to explode. i was debating crazily the other day if it would be better for your head to explode or implode.explosion would mean messy cleanup for those around and implosion would mean just that.LOL any way, happy 2008 to all my friends who care and have helped me tremendously in 2007.love and peace to everyone.ring in the new!!!!! Happy 2008 Lola! I\'m so glad that things might be looking up for you in terms of your meds. I know exactly what you mean about why you didn\'t wanna go out and hang with the drunks. You know it was my first time. The smell, the emotionally draining experience. It was an eye opener for me though so I had to go to see it for myself. But I get it now. Anyways, Happy New Year and good job on making this another sober holiday for you!
You go girl on your sobriety. I am sorry your aunt passed away. I am glad you are feeling better. I hope these are the right meds. for you too. I hope 2008 are happier for you and healthy. Stay strong.
