Kim is back safely from her vacation. She's back at work and we hugged and catched up on some things very briefly. I am very busy and she's still in a limbo - readjusting her body clock and obviously lacking in sleep. Most important is I am happy to have her back. Sad to say I ditched on our Friday evening walk. Too bad because we have a lot to talk about; I am sure she had a lot to share about her husband. They seemed to have bonded happily this time. The reason I ditched is I had foot surgery. Some of my toe nails fell off after I had the chemo. The nail did not grow back properly so the Podiatrist asked if I wanted it pulled out totally and I agreed. It is healing fine and I can wear shoes to work on Monday. The Podiatrist is doing the 2 big toe nails in June when I have more time for healing.
My daughter asked if they - she and partner, can stop by sometime April on their way to Washington. This would be our first meeting after 7 years of being distant. I said yes; said that would be a good idea. I have not totally accepted their living situation but I'd like to be resilient and learn that this is her choice. Still feeling sad but if she's happy with that kind of lifestyle then I will try and learn to accept it. She knows where I stand and for now I am happy we're communicating. I was so ecstatic that I shared the news to all my friends. They are all excited for me and reminded me to be careful I might call her "Bratinella".
