They liked my wig; everybody thought I just had a haircut. I know they’re just being loving and kind to me like always. The wig has asymmetrical sides and bangs; had to ask my boss’ help to tighten it a bit. My boss is a survivor herself and I got the wig from the same shop she got hers. This is the first time Kim, Becky, Nora and the rest of the girlfriends saw me with the wig. Karine was the first one to see me with the wig because she was with me when I got it.
Apart from prayers, humor has a lot to do with how strongly I cope with this battle. I give my girlfriends credit for this. They would let me cry and whine but would always put a limit. That’s not good for the cancer cells and I’m only helping them multiply, they would say.
We were not planning on eating out tonight but then Kim remembered I was craving for clam chowder the other day so we went out anyway. We had cheesecake for dessert so imagine how stuff we were. As usual after the dinner, we went window shopping next door to walk off the heavy feeling. Kim is always bored because she is by herself presently. Her two boys went to Korea to join their father because they are having difficulty finding employment here in the US. I wonder what Kim's plan is tommorow.

Truthfully when I told my cancer specialist at Swedish Tumor Institute my negativity was keeping cancer going - he hugged me & told me how silly that was. In fact he told me keeping true feelings down inside & not getting them out what not helpful for any of my system. How you truly feel is how you need to feel. THE BIG C is still scary - true there are fights against it but still tough chemistry that goes along. Your crys, whine, being with friends with laughs etc all are very healthy.
HUGS HUGS HUGS from a 16 yr cancer survivor this yr & I was told I had a 25% survivor rate at that time.....
That\'s very interesting and very happy to know you\'ve won the hurdle. I am trying to be strong, accepting and positive about everything. We have better technology and I know I will survive this too. In the meantime, I try to enjoy life, savor the time I spend with my friends and so far everything\'s going well for me. Who\'s the cute baby? Just by looking at the baby is making me feel good.
