Karine came to visit me today and will drive me to pick up some groceries.  From the grocery, we went to visit her friend's family.  Karine's girlfriend died of kidney cancer.  The friend left behind her 2 kids - a boy and a girl, her mother, husband and 2 other siblings.  The mother was in her 70's and because of knee problems, she's left in the house, by herself much of the time and to baby sit the grandchildren.  While there, Karine was so at home.  She made coffee for us, which she specially brewed and she practically knew where everything is kept in the kitchen.  The old lady was so happy to see Karine. If I did not know they were just friends, I could have mistaken them to be mother and daughter.  They were so loving with each other and I had a greater admiration for my friend.  Karine was so caring and sweet to the old lady and vice verza.
