I have started up my part-time job in the psychology field as a Children's Attendant Care Worker, and I love it.  My supervisor loves me too, and you will see why in a moment.

I had a 12 year old client whom tried to hurt me the other day by attempting to punch me, push me into things, and destroy my phone.  This is the worst case I have ever had.  This was all over a toy, and I cannot disclose his name.  I had to call the police to intervene, and they felt that it was right to send him to the ER.  I guess on the way there he was saying stuff to them that the foster parent and I have never heard of before like:  murdering people when he grew up, Marilyn Manson, and having a demon in him.  I do believe it is a spiriutal issue, but also a psychological one as well.  I told the police officer (the same one that came to my apt. the night I was raped in its irony), that I never heard of it before, and he did try to tell me how to do my job at times, which I did not appreciate because it wasn't his place.  I went through the necessary protocol to avoid hospitalization, but had no choice for his behavior.  He was even rebellious against the officers at Wal-Mart, so they did handcuff him and carry him out of the store as well as later called an Ambulance.  My supervisor was willing to leave everything to comfort me, but I told her that I was fine and would later vent on my fiance' about it, which I did do later, and has helped a lot too.  Since the situation my supervisor loves how I handled it, and even before then wanted me to lead a Psychosocial group (I am hesitant because my strengths are with adults when it comes to counseling), but am going to in the next year start up a local group for survivors of rape, incest, and abuse once I get farther along in my recovery as well as feel ready enough to handle others issues as well.  As far as I know he is no longer apart of our services, and the foster mothers has given him up.  My heart breaks for him, and all I can do is pray.  I don't believe he is fully properly diagnosed because I think he could have Anti-Social Personality Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, or Schizophrenia; although, he is currently diagnosed with Autism and MR.  I believe there is more to it with his behavior that has not been fully figured out.  Does this make sense?  Ever since then I have been talking, writing, going out with my fiance', and enjoying my cat to take care of myself before school starts up tomorrow.

I don't think I will get another case again like that, but you never know.  I will hopefully hear something as soon as tomorrow or Tuesday on the Homeless Shelter job because I am awaiting for my background check to come back clear like it did with the part-time job I have now.  I am very excited, and will keep you updated.

I was talking to my mom today about theology, and giving advice as well as Bible history thoughout it.  I enjoyed the conversation.  My mom believes I have made progress since the rape, and I do too.  I have noticed that I am more calm.  Have you all noticed anything that I am not aware of?  If so, please share?  I have been taking it one day at a time, and am still struggling with my daily quiet time, but I know in His timing it will get easier.

I start up school tomorrow with MCC, and in March I will resume with Liberty University.  I am excited and scared all at the same time.  My first two classes are Small Groups Involvement and Into. to Preaching.  These are going to be awesome classes!!!!!  smiley-cool.gif

That sounds sad about the boy. I worked with kids at my son\'s elementary school as a substitute supervisor and worked with 6th graders too. Some of the 12 year olds were tough. It can be a very hard age to work with so you did a great job. Congratulations. People who work with kids to me are very strong. I love kids too but sometimes it can be hard even though I like them a lot, they don\'t always want to follow the rules and laugh at them, it is cute but when it is your job to make sure they follow the schools rules it can be hard.

It\'s good to hear your supervisor likes your work. Sad about the child. Out hope for him is that he somehow just doesn\'t get lost in the system and forgotten about.
Good luck with school!!
