13 w Ultra Sound
We had our NT or 1st trimester scan today. I should be 13w...but I only have that number because on my first u/s they gave me a due date....I have no idea where I would be in a cycle.
The miracle baby keeps hanging in there :-) The u/s tech wasn't sure if we were going to be able to do the actual nt test because the baby was measuring a little too big...measuring at 14w, 1d. But then after consulting with a doc said we could go forward with the blood test. To be honest, I didn't really care...I just wanted the u/s!
The little guy's heart rate was at 158. We could see urine in the bladder which means there is a working kidney. The baby is just over 3 inches. It wasn't as active as it has been in the past, but this is the earliest in the day that I've had an u/s. The neck measurement was normal...like 1.82 and under 3.0 is normal. We dont' have downs syndrom in the family and I'm only 30...so, I'm not too worried.
It's exciting that I'm measuring near 14w though. I would love for the 1st trimester to pass quickly!
I need to trust God in this. He is the only reason I have my miracle baby. The ob even calls it the miracle baby. I've had continuous anxiety over this pregnancy and it's like God is telling me to be still and know that he is God. We learned that the placenta is on top and towards the front of the uterus. So we probably won't get to hear a heart beat via doppler until about 20w plus. Also due to the placement of the placent I probably won't start feeling the baby kick and move until like 26w...so, I have a long haul of minimal reassurances ahead of me. But I know God is God and I am not...and I can rest in that.
