Rode the motorcycle into work today.  It was cold, my hands are still slightly numb two hours later.  Felt good, however.  Very therapeutic.
I used to ride to work all the time before I was married.  About five years into the marriage, after we had kids, my STBX told me to sell my motorcycle.  She said it wasn't safe.  At the time we really had money issues so I sold the bike mainly for the money.
Now I'm going through a divorce and I'm trying to rediscover myself.  I got the bike from a friend who was discarding it.  I fixed it up and got it running again.  My STBX wasn't pleased I was getting another motorcycle and had another argument about it.  I told her that I'm trying to live my life and this is my decision.
I've ridden the bike around the neighborhood since I got it, just to get used to riding again.  After about a dozen practice runs over the past few weeks, I feel pretty confident again.  I felt ready to ride into work.
This morning, when I got up, it was very cold.  I started getting dressed and talked myself out of it with the "it's too cold" excuse.  I then remembered this new years eve post someone posted on facebook.  It was a simple sign that said "You know all those things you've always wanted to do?  Go out and do them."  So, I grabbed the motorcycle keys and rode into work.
It felt great.  It reminded me that sometimes, it's the journey, not the destination, that's important.  I have alittle more enthusiasm about my day and feel good that I've taken even one step into some kind of new direction.
