Struggling

Again, I feel horrible for ignoring the group.   The past month and a half kind of rough.   A very dear friend from my forner work who I've kept in touch with has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and Luekemia, I can really relate to some of what he's going through and we talk frequently......but it wears me out and brings me down.  I want to be there for him because he has been one of the most supportive people when I got sick.  I can see him going down that dark path that many of us know so well.   Then a month ago another friend died of breast cancer, she had it 15 years ago and was doing great for all these years.  In November she found out she was at stage 4 with mets to the spine and other areas.  She went so fast it was shocking.  So I've been out of sorts, struggling physically, and have not been there for you people.  Life goes on.

Hi there Genie. So sorry I missed this journal.Great to hear from you again.I can understand your grief as I have just lost my dear old friend Grant. He died from cancer. Also four uncles and an aunt in a very short time.It hits hard. Not easy. With the emotional hit our bodies don\'t hold up so well either.Grief and shock really knocks us down.My dear brother David is not going to last much longer as he is fighting cancer. That is really stabbing at my heart every day.He is only 63. Don\'t ever feel bad for not being here on DS.Our friendships go deeper than that and are not so conditional. They are based on empathy and compassion and are more spiritual for sure. You take care now.Keep smiling despite the struggle and think happy thoughts. Here for you anytime.Love Di xo
